  1. Believe it or not, it was at best 12'' wide and 20' long. Used a Wide angle camera attachment to get FO video with the Camera attached to the wall. Anyone over 6' wouldn't fit in video frame. Oh and when the room has all concrete walls, you better have a set up that holds up or have legendary ninja golf-ball-dodging skills
  2. After some trial and error, ended up with this set-up
  3. LOL but you topped it on purpose right? Just to test how safe the blankets were. I have a video of a ball screaming back at me after it shot through 2-3 layers of moving blankets - ricocheting off the concrete wall - then returned back through the tear it created. The ones I used were some cheapo $10 moving blanket that quickly tore apart. Even when I tightly layered 4 to each other.
  4. after 20+ years of wasting $ on nets made from different materials (cheap and expensive) - My low budget / best way to stop a ball indoors is with a old heavy bed comforter. The ball deflection is a fraction of a net so you can have it positioned much closer to a wall with worrying about putting holes in your drywall. The energy of impact is dispersed better so no balls flying back at you. Balls fall straight down or funneled them to automatically roll back to a pile in front of the matt. Damaged balls won't tear holes through it and just to make sure you can hang a cheapo white tablecloth on the front for extra protection. Hooked up a projector to the optishot and was floored how good it looked with the $5 table cloth. Nets are virtually silent and the bed comforter will make a minor sound when the ball makes contact.
  5. You're correct, there is no line between average and better ball strikers. This drill can be helpful for swings of all levels, and I'm definitely not saying it's wrong. Just saying there could be negative effects if you don't know what your doing.
  6. doing just what? Steeping the shaft in transition, right elbow staying high and back? Im interested in reading what you think Mr. Hogan is doing in my avatar regarding the downswing
  7. Trying to keep the right arm (trail arm) extended on the BS can help the average golfers ball striking ability (to a limited point). For better golfers this is a no no. Prevents internal right shoulder rotation during transition and often replaces it with early external rotation - an early steepening shaft - hands dropping down - right elbow stuck high and back behind the body etc. etc. Not stuff you see with the best ball strikers. Good drill in some cases, but you better know what you're doing.
  8. "the right/trail elbow stays high and back" - name the goon(s) that STILL claim this to be Mr. Hogan's "secret move"
  9. the thing that amazes me is that Hardy still claims that the right(trail) elbow should stay high and back the right hip as you move into impact. Huh? What? could someone clear that up for me? Jim Furyk's swing could come close to this move, but he gets into that position by doing the opposite of what Hardy teaches. Surely I cant be the only to call B.S. And to claim that this high and back right elbow was Hogan's secret? Well sorry Hardy...... Hogan did the direct opposite. He really should write an instructional book on how to sell BS, now THAT would undoubtedly be worth more than any Book/DVD or Lesson.
  10. Hardy is a bright guy, he knows how to sell golf lessons. As for this quality of this book or his instruction, well its simply not worth the money. The guy along with someone named John Jacobs came into the light by bashing Mr. Hogan and claiming he "had it all wrong". They then do an excellent job of convincing golfers that they are the only ones that truly know the golf swing. Hardy turns this self proclaimed knowledge into a cash cow - selling books dvds, golf schools, and even brainwashing "teaching pro's" into paying him thousands and thousands of dollars (plus monthly subscription dues) to learning how to teach. TO his credit, he's beginning to lay off his bogus claims about the golf swing BUT only because his popularity has risen to the point that he can no longer fool such a large following. Smart of him to pair up with reputable golf instructors to clean up his sneaky car salesman image. Ok thats my rant
