  1. So are you as disappointed as I am that Andy and Parker were elminated last night? I couldn't figure out how that happened given that A&A; were 20 minutes behind them leaving the range. So I asked the ladies last night what that was all about - like I thought...stuff happened we didn't see. Check out my post . I'll be interviewing the rest of the contestants this week to see how everyone is feeling after the first elmination and adding those interviews to the post as well. If you have questions for them, please let me know and I'll ask. Meanwhile, I have a candle to light. Sniff... Golfgal
  2. Hey everyone. Had a great chat with Ashley and Ashleigh tonight after the show. I'll add the other contestants interviews to the blog post tomorrow and Thursday as well. I'm looking forward to hearing from Jay on his dad's faux pas and Raul on his "call" of the infraction. Also, Andy and Parker looked like they might "get into it" this week, so I'm looking forward to those southern gents' interviews as well. I'll talk to Charlotte about dodging yet another bullet this week - she and Rob must have horseshoes stashed somewhere ;) This is fun! ;) Gayle
  3. Surprise Surprise! I guess it is true: "It is better to look good than to be good." Actually I think those golfgals did great. And I believe Jay's temper got the best of him tonight. I wonder if he sees it that way. Not sure what happened to Rob, but he really struggled on the par 4 - nerves? I just finished interviewing Ashleigh K - she's a pretty happy party animal right now. :) I'm going to add the interviews with Ashley D, Jay, Rob, Charlotte, Parker, Andy and Jay inside the same post later this week, so keep checking back, ya hear! 4. Sounds like a good deal. Smart demoing the set first and then buying it on ebay cheaper. Did it come with a putter? Gayle
  5. I know someone who has 26 pairs of golf shoes - one pair per outfit - can anyone beat that?! Gayle
  6. Hi Birdieman. We all love the clothes :) I'm also finding a lot of women use style as a selection criteria on putters as well - not only does a putter need to feel good - it has to look good. Was that true for her too? Cheers Gayle
  7. Haha...it's amazing the number of men that give their wives their old putters :) Why is that? Is it just so you can buy a new one? I am curious how long women keep their husband's old putter before buying one of their own. Thanks for the info! Gayle
  8. Hi I'm curious how many men bought their wives/girlfriends their first set of clubs. And if you did, what criteria did you use? How involved was she in the purchase? And if she was involved, what was the critiera she used? Was it different than yours? I'm trying to figure out how men and women choose their clubs - especially their putters. Any stories or advice would be very helpful. Thanks! Golfgal
  9. I decided to ask Raul and Jameica in their interviews today about their strategy and their reasons made a lot of sense to me. Golfgal
  10. Wow...so much has happened and I missed it! I have been in Mexico for two weeks and haven't been able to watch HW 18 - withdrawal!!! But I caught up this week and was able to interview Rob and Charlotte , Ashleigh K and Jay Reynolds and get their perspective on a roller coaster ride through episodes 3 and 4. It was interesting to hear how they felt about all the drama, twists and turns. I liked getting the "behind the scenes" stuff too. Will get some insights from Raul this weekend and hope to chat with Parker and Andy as well - sad to see them get a strike, but I'm happy no one has been eliminated yet. I'd like to see a close race. Golfgal
  11. I will ask them again - I did bring it up in their interviews two weeks ago , but then I asked the other contestants what they thought and found out that the Ash-team was reprimanded after the day was over. But because they got a stroke anyway (i.e. it didn't change the outcome), no penalty was given. However, it was said that GC was very insistent that driving rules must apply and penalities will be given for breaking them. So we will probably see some of that again. Sure wish I could have watched the show last night - sounds like it was quite interesting. cheers Gayle
  12. You are right. It wasn't aired on the 5th because of the PGA, but I'm sitting here in Playa Del Carmen watching the golf channel at the time it is supposed to be on (10 pm EST) and I'm watching the History of The Ryder Cup instead. I don't understand - doesn't GC broadcast the same shows in Mexico and US? They advertised Highway 18 today, but aren't showing it here. Darn! I'm going to miss two episodes I guess as I am away for 2 weeks. Golfgal
  13. I missed this week's show with the PGA taking over GC, but didn't miss the fun. I was able to interview Rob and Charlotte , and those good ole boys, Parker and Andy to find out what they thought of the show so far. I love that I always learn something I didn't know when I talk to the contestants. I'm off to Mexico for a vacation and hoping that I'll be able to watch GC while I'm there so I can continue the interviews. But if I can't see it, maybe you can help me out. Why don't you watch the show and then send me the questions you want to ask the contestants. You can reach me at golfgal[at]on-mark-it.com OR post your questions here and I'll check back to see what you want me to ask. Cheers Gayle
  14. Yes, they can run on :) I try to keep them under 10 minutes, but sometimes it's hard to stop - they are fun to talk to. What I like about this show over Big Break Ka'anapali is that the contestants remained friends after the show - there's drama, but nothing really nasty. BB got so nasty it was hard interviewing both sides of the fight. Hard not to pick sides :) I'd love to chat with the "good ole boys" sometime - they are a hoot! I'd really like to know what they thought about Ashley's trick with the cable guy. Gayle
  15. Hey Alex. Based on your comment, I decided to find out more about A&A;'s alleged unsafe and disrespectful behavior when I talked today with Jameica and Raul and Keri Murphy . I got their opinions and also some bonus stories and material they didn't show on TV. Cheers Gayle
  16. Hey Alex Thanks for this. I never really looked at it that way. This reminds me of car rallies in the old days and we did a lot of pretty sneaky things back then. This was pretty tame in comparison to what we used to do, I have to admit. But it brings up a very good question. I'm going to ask this in tomorrow's interviews with Keri and Raul and Jameica. I'm curious about what they thought and whether A&A; received any feedback on their antics from any of the contestants or producers. Gayle
  17. Actually I think they are a hoot! Those girls hold nothing back. I did my after-episode interviews with Ashleigh and Ashley and they were pretty honest about the day and some of the things they wish they had done differently. But tricking Parker and Andy was not one of them. I wish we could hear from those two good ole boys about what Trouble and Sunshine did to them at that light. That was sooo funny. I think you should give them another chance. No doubt we'll see more antics from the two of them as they try to battle back next week and prove to everyone there (and here) that they have what it takes to win. And I think there is much more to winning this competition than being a good golfer. Gayle
  18. Hi Mike Yes, I really enjoyed Europe versus US BB. I hear the next BB will be with men and women - possibly teams of two again like they are doing for HW 18, but not entirely sure. I do know that who ever it is, I'll be following it closely and talking to the contestants after the show like I am doing with this show. Gayle
  19. I thought it would be fun to hear from Jameica and Raul about their experience of being the "first strike" victims so I interviewed them both today. I think you'll enjoy what they had to say. A new strategy is in play... No more playing by the rules... Behind the scenes info is revealed that surprised me - these teams are joined at the hips - almost See you tomorrow night after the show! Golfgal
  20. Actually I like those guys too - very down to earth. Keri seems like a great host as well - fresh, alive and vibrant. I had a chance to chat with her for a few minutes for an interview today - she's one busy lady! Funny how there was a trivia contest and she hosts a trivia game on Golfnow.com. Coincidence? Cheers Gayle
  21. I thought it was a lot of fun - and I too like the blonde leading the blonde :) I interviewed them both after tonight's show - these girls rock! Golfgal
