  1. if your new go right to a pro and get lessons so you dont develop bad happens right away...
  2. Does anyone have some advice on how to get the most out of them? I bought a large bucket today which consists of about 125 balls. It was going great for about the first 75 balls. I worked in almost every club(wedges/short irons/med irons/hyrbrids/driver) and was hitting everything solid. Then I started over again and got to 7 iron and started hitting those weak shots to the right and pounding the box. Im not sure why. Possibly tired? IF you hit about 50-75 balls well should you just stop? Or try to keep grooving the swing at that point? If I would have stepped away after the first time through the bag I would have felt great. Now Im sitting here saying that the hell fell apart at the end?
  3. Jaime, Put a box an inch outside the ball and just swing obviously avoid hitting the box both taking the club away and on the downswing. More importantly downswing. You are hitting it too close to the heel due to swing path issues. The box makes you take the right path. I have all the same issues as you do. The box drill is great. ~ Hags
  4. ^^^ HAHAHA
  5. how long did you do it until you were "cured"
  6. Has anyone else done the box drill? You literally put a box less then an inch from the outside of the ball and swing. This has done wonders for my swing. Does anyone know what its training my body to do? My instructor had me do it in reaction to hitting the ball too close to the heel of the club....
  7. not looking for a miracle, just solid contact for now... I fell off the wagon
  8. wow this sounds like me coming from another person.
  9. its nice to hear this happens to someone else. I can go to the range on a Tuesday night and hit the ball better then I ever have in my life and think to myself "I got it finally". Then the next night I hit hosel rockets with zero power. I have no clue why. Of course the downtime usually happens right before Im suppose to play...
  10. In you guys opinion is a lesson a day or 2 before you are about to play a good thing or bad thing? I felt into a "funk" and scheduled a lesson out of desperation for tomorrow as I have a weekend full of golf. I basically lost my swing earlier this week at the range. I figured I cant hit it worse then I am right now so its worth a shot to bail me out for the weekend.....
  11. My personal not professional opinion of my own swing on video is my setup is good and my take away is fine. About halfway through it gets too flat and clubhead stops going up and too far wrapped out my body... Any feedback is appreciated
  12. I've been Playing Golf for: 1 Year My current handicap index or average score is: 30 My typical ball flight is: High and Slight Fade The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Strong Pulll Videos: http://www.ubersense.com/video/view/qglNReMy?e=965220#
  13. It is crazy you mention the vertical swing plane with irons/hybrids/fairway woods. I assume this means you concentrate on getting the club up very quickly in backswing instead of becoming too flat and bringing it too inside. I have just determined this for myself as well. When I get that club up quickly and turn my left shoulder, I make solid contact most of the time. Is this what you are referring to as well?
  14. Im sure this is a common question/issue for most. Currently Im hitting my irons/hybrid clubs pretty well. My 3W is kind of a mess. My question is about the shoulder turn. Do you purposely turn the left shoulder more with the woods?
  15. I have recently made great strides in my golfswing because of: 1.) About 10 lessons with a PGA pro 2.) Hitting balls almost everyday for a full year 3.) Doing a lot of trial an error My current issue is my left leg. I feel like it caves in too much on my backswing which makes me lose my balance slightly which I think causes some mishits from time to time(mostly strong pulls). However, this motion with my left leg feels natural and if I try to halt it the results weren't so great either. In general, if I don't make any changes Im an OK with where Im at. Im hitting the ball pretty solid a lot of the time. Should I concern myself with my leg caving in too much or should I just let it be?
  16. Hey Jon, I notice your handicap is "HIGH" so it is nice to find someone in the same position. Thanks for the reply. It sounds like a small thing but for me its a milestone. I use to get myself into a case of the shanks and could NOT get out of it. Meaning if I was doing well ont he range and then all of a sudden hit a shank I would be SCREWED for the rest of the bucket. My mind would quickly tell me Im screwed and I would be toast. This went on for 10-11 months. I would have great range sessions for 30 balls and then completely lose it and never get it back. Lately I fall into he "Shanks" less and when I do I am able to dig my way out of it on my own. It may tae 15-20 balls but I figure it out. The thing that Im learning is progress to me is starting to do things without having to think about it. Meaning when I first started a year ago I had like 10 things to "remember" to do in my swing. Do you know how hard it is to actually swing when your trying to remember 10 things. Now I have it down to 5 Things and 3 of them are before I even swing so Im not actually thinking about when swing: 1.) Make Sure I stand proper distance from ball 2.) Proper Grip 3.) Relax all muscles before swinging When Im actually about to swing I have only 2 things in my mind: 1.) Make sure to keep feet grounded. When I have issues it is mostly with my feet being way to active which gets me off balance and I have no power. 2.) Make that complete left shoulder turn(don't get lazy with it) while coling properly. If I do the things about Im good. This game is NOT easy...
  17. No shot at doing that Ernest. I cant not hit a ball for a year. Im too far along. Ive been seeing a pro for a few months. I currently shoot low 100s and best round to date 98 on a good course
  18. To start to "groove" a good golfswing in your guys opinion? Ive been at it for a year and I finally feel like I am starting to make a little progress. When I got to the range and his a bucket of 50, my breakdown falls into something like this: 30 Solid Shots. Correct contact 10 OK. Not perfectly square but definitely playable 5-10 shanks. Usually the week push shot to the right variety off the hosel or very inside of the club. The shanks discourage me but Ive gotten better at stepping away and taking a breath and not getting pissed off that it happened. The shanks usually start when I change clubs on the range and go from like a 7 iron to a 4 iron. I believe the issue is I come too far inside and try to hit the ball harder when the clubs get bigger instead of putting the same easy swing on it. I hit my wedges and short irons well consistently now.. Just curious as to when it really felt like to each of you when you had your swing grooved..... Thanks, Hags
  19. i have been told my setup is very good. I have also been told my backswing is solid and i get a proper turn for most part. I think you are on to something. It is definitely in my downswing
  20. there is ZERO in between with me. Either hitting solid shots or shanks. IT is just very weird.
  21. but Saturday's lesson is a big one for me. I need to be able to practice better and not completely lose it after 3 days each lesson. I cant keep running back to him
  22. i cant kill this instructor. Im hitting clean shots 15 mins into each lesson. I dont know what hes suppose to do to make it last after a few days. I really think maybe its not for me. Which sucks because I love it
  23. not really anything materials wise to take home. we watch film during the lesson. I always just ask him what should I make sure Im doing. After last lesson he wanted me to remember to hinge my club up quicker, turn more, and make sure to turn completely through...
  24. I dont understand how I can go from hitting so nicely to ground balls in 24 hours. Why does the good stuff go away so easily but the bad stuff stick?
  25. I hit balls everyday at the range. Im more then willing to put in the work. But practice isnt good when you cant hit the ball
