  1. cool, who all is from NW alabama, the shoals area
  2. i just let it sit on the ground, i HATE to see other people hovering
  3. i was hitting my 9 iron 150 but i just recently changed my swing to hit nothing but a fade, totally eliminate the left side of the course ... (working good so far) the one thing that im having trouble with is getting the right club, im losing some distance for sure, im now hitting my 8 iron 145-150 , i dont care though as long as im more accurate
  4. here cars = O.B. not a good thing, never want a car
  5. you SOB
  6. yea i've heard that before too, i actually hit a 1 iron pretty well??
  7. thanks, i wouldnt mind playing capitol hill, is cambrian ridge the really costly course?
  8. really? didnt realize that ... how?
  9. no problem, if you ever come up to play and need a partner give me a holler, ill scrape some change up and get out with ya
  10. yes i have, The Fighting Joe is really long (from the back its extremely long) if you're accurate and have decent distance you can score no problem though, once you get past the first cut of rough it is high grass to your knees/waist like in the british open .... The Schoolmaster i've only played once ... dont remember a whole lot about it, its got more trees and the rough isnt as high (from what i remember) seems to be more elevation changes, elevated greens and tees etc. again accuracy is key there too
  11. i normally hit a draw off the tee and my misses are mostly hooks, probably the problem
  12. i've had one guy locally tell me to try the top flite gamers, me being a proV1x guy i just said ok and thought nothing more about it, i saw a few posts here saying how they performed so i went to work (at a course) and bought a sleeve for 3.50 .... i do not get the uncontrollable backspin on full wedge shots and i still have SOME bite on my short wedge shots as well, distance was fine and feel was there, im switching balls and dropping the amount of money i spend on balls from now on!!!!!
  13. thanks fellas, i think i get what you're saying
  14. NO! im a tennessee fan! lol yep, went there a few years ago on vacation, dont know the area really, just know where it is
  15. hoping for some tips
  16. this is very true, i hit some shots where the pin is tucked in front and it jerks off the front, my buddies say "GREAT SHOT" and in my mind im thinking "no it isnt, its not even on the green!" lol some people just dont know i guess?
  17. im actually in Tuscumbia, football is starting and of course the first game of the season is Deshler vs. Russellville
  18. i've been skeptical, i think i will have to buy some of the topflite gamers and see if i can still hit the shots i want, i will try to remember to report my results
  19. golf IS hard, but if you continue to practice and work on your game, you will be breaking 80 in no time, then you'll be trying to stay under par (im trying to stay AT par)
  20. honestly the 5 is a guesstimation, i normally shoot low 70s but occasionally hit mid 70s, i went and watched the pros ONCE and i really want to go back, john daly and hank khuene was the group i followed mostly, LONG knockers
  21. yes dent, provs are amazing laxplayer .... do you play for highschool?? i had the same thing happen to me, it was my 56* wedge though, 100 yd shot, i hit it up there perfect!! my ball mark was about a foot past the hole, it had too much spin and jerked back about 20 ft. below the hole
  22. swing through the ball, dont worry about what club you have, take a swing with good tempo, but be aggressive through the ball
  23. im in northern alabama, anybody ever up near this way, give me a holler, we'll knock it around some
  24. LOTS and LOTS of practice, watching videos and the golf channel honestly got me where my game is today ... if i could putt i'd be a scratch golfer prolly, all you gotta do is work on 100 yds and in, thats the biggest difference in us and the pros
