  1. All this too depends on how honestly the golfer plays. No one at the USGA is looking over your shoulder. I know guys who maintain a handicap while taking mulligans and breakfast balls. They move the ball to their advantage and pickup putts inside 5 feet. As amateurs no one wants to get hurt or damage their clubs, I can understand "adjustments" for that, as long as you do not give yourself an advantage. A handicap of 14 can actually be a 18-20 if the score is kept honestly, it's all relative.
  2. I usually play the B330 RXS, but also play the NXT Tour S. I find both these balls to be very playable with some minor differences. I will pick up a few yards with the Titleist. Around the greens I will get a stop dead and sometimes a check back with the B330 RXS. With the Titleist is usually get a stop and hop. For my game (14 hcp.) I find the difference minor and both of these to be quality balls for a mid hcp. golfer.
  3. I was bad yesterday. I bought myself a new set of sticks. Got me some Callaway Apex irons (5-AW) with graphite shafts.
  4. Probably more important than the brand or design of your wedges is the bounce angles. I live in Myrtle Beach where our sand is pretty fluffy and the turf is soft. Therefore I use 14 degrees of bounce on my 56 deg. sand wedge and 8 degrees of bounce on my 60 deg. lob wedge. As a general rule, the firmer your conditions, the lower the bounce angle you would want. Once that is straightened out, learning how to utilize the bounce will do wonders for your game both in the sand and greenside.
  5. Couldn't agree more. If I was hung up on being a purist I would play straight blades, no offset, no cavity backs, maybe even persimmon woods....lol. We take advantage of every edge in technology we can from clubs to shoes to balls. Play what works for you!
