  1. Hello All I have been a golf pro for 23 years and struggled the last 6 years with scoring. I have had lots of lessons from top teaches in the long and short game and I strike the ball much better much straighter but my scores have got worse. I can only presume the problem is I ve spend a long time working on my swing that I've not concentrated on scoring, I am looking for a book which is about lowering your scores. I like the idea of a book which will give me lots of tests in practice to show me if im improving.Simular to dave pelzs scoring system. any help much apreciated
  2. Erik would you say that hitting shots towards the shank using stack and tilt is to do with arms not staying close to chest in backswing or left shoulder and head dipping too much going back,I have pure hits with slight draw or I shank it,,, not a great confidence booster
  3. Driveforshow nice thread, your quote, I don't care what others think I look like when I play. If my ball goes where I want it, that's all that matters. never care what people think of how your swing looks.stack and tilt is a fantastic method.I have played golf since a kid and been a pro for the past 25 years, hit thousands of balls. have suffered from back and hip trouble for the past 10 years, many times walking off course after a few holes in agony since going to stack and tilt I have not pain, its the greatest thing for me, as I thought I must give the game up at 48 which would have destroyed me. Go with stack and tilt, give it a few months before you decide if its for you, don't over do the movements, and don't give a sh,, what people think [its actually a great looking movement]. A tour player doesn't care how their swing looks - read a golf instruction book and see if guys like Sergio, phil, jim, kucher, monty, and many more do what the book says. go for it, enjoy the ride and do what you feel is correct, let me know how you get on
  4. mvmac thanks for reply, makes a lot of sense, my head does move down on the back swing, though at impact it goes back to same position at address I will post a video, your thoughts would be very much appreciated.thanks
  5. It seems that many golfers who try stack and tilt hit it great to begin with.Ot, as with me hit it perfect or dreadful. Maybe an expert here can help me with my problem. here are my swing thoughts. 1. weight more left at address 2.bent over ball more 3.backswing, hands move inside and feeling is left shoulder is dipping as more weight goes left and right leg straightens 4.downswing, but cheeks feel tight top part of body lifts up the ball starts right and makes a lovely baby draw to the target But something's I will hit it close to the kneck and shank it, or I will hit a big hook the feelings I have when hitting it gut is better rhythm butt cheeks tight all smooth the feelings I have when hitting it bad is arms are too quick in downswing it maybe that my left arm moves away from my chest in backswing which would create a shank, a problem I've had for long time any thoughts would be most grateful thank you and good golfing folks
  6. Hello all ! new here at the sandtrap.I golf for 40 years, and most my golfing life have suffered from the following faults, swaying back, club too much inside, weight staying on right foot too long in downswing, hands quick in downswing. So after reading up on stack and tilt,it seemed this could be the answer. As many golfers say, when they try stack and tilt they instantly strike it better.Im the same, lovely push draw. But from pure iron shots I will hit a dreadful shank. My thoughts for his mistake are hands coming down too quick, getting away from my body. After I shank it,i then try to dip down more in backswing and feel my spine is straightening in downswing, then I seem to hit it off the middle. If anyone else has a theory on this id very much like to hear from you. For me the thing which would help me is having drills,i find that all I need to do is the drill and the rest will take care of itself.any good drills for the following 1.keeping arms closer to body [apart from tee under arm pits 2. managing to push hips forward in downswing 3. keeping arms straighter at impact thanks folks and good golfing
