1. I mean I haven't been here for well over a month because I couldn't play and wanted to stay away from the game...I went to the range for the first time and posted my swing here. There were no ill intentions but since it's such a problem I'll just see myself out. Thanks for being such a douche bag about it though
2. Well that's your right to feel that way
3. I really like that video series, I've seen you post it in other threads. They keep things pretty simple. I recently made my swing steeper because I was hitting thin a lot, I think I may have over done it. I'm coming back off of an oblique tear and my ball striking is horrible, I really don't remember the last time it was this inconsistent.
4. I
I am sure you would get more help if you posted in other threads besides the one where you get free help @PatrickBateman
Is that to say I am taking advantage of someone/something?
5. Hey guys, I'm just coming off of an injury and getting back to work. The steeper shoulder plane on the backswing I seem to be able to do and repeat. I know what it feels like and have a pretty good handle on it. What I cant seem to stop doing is humping goats everywhere I go ...I've watched countless videos on it and have seen a few different opinions. Mark Crossfield says the majority of the time he sees it the handle is also high at impact. He says that if you have more of a sidearm motion into the ball it typically takes care of itself (loosely maybe even poorly paraphrased). Mvmac please help!! I don't usually hit balls that fast at the range, just trying to get a video. Thanks all Edit: What I failed to get across is that I have heard countless opinions on what to do/how to fix it...Haven't really had any luck with anything.
6. When my shoulders go flat it's death for my swing. When I have my shoulders how they are here I hold the line a lot better, you really nailed it mvmac, absolutley crucial. This position at the top of the backswing seems to yield the best results, when my shoulders go flat everything goes wrong, my ass leaves the line, everything
7. This is a pic from my phone today while I was working on not lunging. I'll get a video the next time I get an opportunity.
8. I'll grab a video ASAP
9. It's defintley not second nature yet but more often than not the swing is "shorter" because of how my shoulders are...when I draw a line on my head it's pretty much there until after impact, before I was raising out of my posture at the top of the swing which was addressed in this thread. Should I not move on until that is completley engrained?
10. Even in the first pics I feel like my left side should kind of be crossing over the line
11. I'm having some trouble maintaining my spine angle during the downswing. The problem is the typical lunge toward the ball instead of clearing my hips and staying "on the line" (pics below). I have looked up some videos and am having a hard time finding worthwhile drills for this. I've been standing in front of the mirror trying to bring my left back pocket "back" or in essence bumping my hips to initiate the downswing. I'm looking for some drills that will help me with this. Here are some pics to better illustrate what I am rambling about. The first two pics I managed to stay on the line but I kept taking videos until I lunged so I can show you guys. Impact: Post impact: Here is where I leave the line and lunge toward the ball Impact:
12. I re-read what you initially posted about it. I really need to fix it because I see the correlation with my head coming up/down. I feel like when I have it fully ingrained it's going to make a big difference ball striking wise.
13. Yeah, this is now at the top of my list since my grip seems to be taken care of. It's not engrained enough yet to the point of not really thinking about it.
14. I always noticed that my left foot kind of spins out but I just recently noticed that it's after impact. Do you guys have any tips on how to roll over my left foot more?
15. In my experiance I was much better served tweaking my swing with a pro. That same pro also weakened my grip considerably and I have been striking the ball pretty consistently. I think strengthening a grip that's already strong is just a band aid in a way (I did the same).I would never consider using the grip I use now when I was slicing, but now the majority of my shots are draws and I don't really need to worrying about slicing.
