  1. I'm currently playing at a local community college because I wasn't sure which to do and now I'm transferring to the University of Northern Iowa to play for them in the spring. It's tough balancing studies with traveling for golf. But don't give up the game, such a good stress reliever.
  2. I believe that everyone should develop a swing themselves. Assuming its for the most part a decently fundamental swing. Then have it slightly tweaked with a pro and work on rhythm etc. After that it's all mental and you have a natural swing.
  3. I take my 100 yard club which is my lob wedge. It's actually more like 92 yards, but good enough. Then for a 25 yard shot swing to your knees and make sure you accelerate and follow through, 50 yards is waist, and 75 is half way between the top of your back swing and waist.
  4. I live in northern Iowa. During the winter months I focus alot on weights and take the month of december off to just relax and get away from things. Once the new year starts I go to an indoor golf academy and try to go to indoor ranges.
  5. id take: phil mickelson anthony kim ross fisher vijay singh backup (incase someone picks someone the same): hunter mahan, if phil is taken take rory mcilroy that's what I would do.
  6. do you make a swing that may be delofting your club head with your five wood? that would cause it to go farther. or maybe you feel more comfortable with your five wood and are just making a better swing with it or swing harder?
  7. I have those colored sticks you can stick in the ground that you generally use for alignment. I'm not sure if you know what I'm talking about, some pros and alot of low handicappers use them. Ill just stick it behind me on the angle of my plane. Would that work?
  8. I was actually hitting fades at the time. I have a tendency to try and hit fades when im feeling comfortable with my swing and like it that way. When im setup to what feels normal to me though, I do hit draws. Update: The next time I show my swing on video I hope to have corrected alot of my head movement and get my swing a closer to back on plane. I have a problem with getting my swing back on plane and as I start feeling comfortable with it it starts creeping back into the inside like you saw in the video. I need to get my swing back on plane and develop a practice method that keeps it there. Thanks for the constructive criticism guys its helping me open up my eyes. It's nice to hear things from different people rather than the same old people I see everyday.
  9. No Love is an ill song..
  10. Okay, I'm going to work on a few of these things at the range and then post a video up to see if I'm making any progress. I have good luck with my swing right now, but since it is summer I have time to work on it for college golf season.
  11. First off, I never said I had the timing of Tiger. Infact I said are swing really aren't alike at all. Thanks though. I guess I had the wrong view of what flipping was. Agreeing that I flip the club, would fixing my head position and inside swing plane help take care of my flip? It doesn't need to be totally erased, but would those two factors help minimalize it?
  12. Did some research and I think youre wrong about saying I flip the club. I think you stopped my swing at the wrong position trying to say I was flipping at it. You stopped it quite aways after impact. Infact if thats a flip then I guess Tiger Woods is flipping too. MY SWING IS NOT SIMILAR TO TIGERS. Just looking at key positions. Here would be a more correct position to see if I am flipping or not. I may be flipping slightly, if anything. But nothing to worry about, IMO. Correct me if I am wrong. I do however agree with you on my head position being poor and taking it inside.
  13. Okay this is very helpful. I'm kinda confused on what your saying with the legs and the two degree angle so if you could explain a little more that would be great. I feel good about my swing plane other than it being inside at the takeaway, I seem to reroute it just fine on the way back down and am in good position. What can I do to work my head position throughout my swing and what would you suggest for me to be most concerned with?
  14. sorry for the double post, but i dont really see myself coming inside "that severly".
  15. my friend took the video kind of at a goofy angle, but i am aimed at the trees right underneath my eyes.
