  1. Congrats! I almost finally broke 100 but had a disasterous 6 on the 17th... I'm hoping to hit that milestone this weekend.
  2. Sounds like someone who just has to win no matter what it is. I played volleyball with someone like that. He tried getting away with every little thing and he finally got called on it. No one wants to be on his team now... It's annoying but like others have said, if there's no money on the line, etc, then it may not be worth it. I guess it all depends. Does he rub it in everyone's face that he's got a better score? THEN it might be time to 'take em down'
  3. Nice! So far I've only played 5 times and the first time I didnt keep score I've only played on publc and county courses in northern NJ except for the first two which were in MA and they were pretty nice.

    Keep Stats

I recently downloaded a program called scorekeeper http://www.scorekeeper.com - It's the first program I've used to track and so far it does what I need it to do. Also, I just started keeping some stats while playing and so far, it has made my practicing much more efficient.
  7. I havent been playing for very long but luckily I have learned the power lesson. Before I started taking lessons, I would go to the range and try to kill the ball with the driver and only hit 150 yds (at most). After some very good lessons, I've learned that proper mechanics is key to hitting the ball far. I can hit my driver 200yds now on 3/4 swing with no effort. My accuracy still need alot of work, but hey, I'm getting there I played Pinch Brook in NJ a couple of days ago and my buddy and I were paired with an older couple. The wife did not hit the ball far at all but it was straight every time. I guess my point is I'd rather get the fundamentals correct first before trying to crush it (that comes later )
  8. shot my best round on my birthday (7/4) 102 on a par 65. Also, 1st par! I know, I'm a n00b but its a step in the right direction
  9. Hello there! Relatively new golfer, just posting to say Hi Froad
