  1. I have a rules question here. I am familiar with the Red and Yellow stakes marking water hazards and lateral hazards, and the difference between proper releif from both. There is one situation where Im not quite sure. Ill try my best to explain. Teebox waterhazard Green Tree Use the lay out below to picture the hole. This is a par three with a water hazard between you and the green marked with yellow stakes. The water hazard is lined with trees on on both sides and is fairly narrow, about the same width as the green. If you push your drive to the right and it never goes over the water before hitting the tree, hits the tree and kicks left into the water, what are your options. What I know.....yellow hazards allow 2 options. 1) rehit from as close to previous place or 2) drop from where the ball went in the hazard on line from where it was hit as far back as you want to go. My question is can I drop to the right of the hazard where the ball went in ?? If it was a red stake on the sides I know I could but this hazard is marked yellow. Not sure
  2. Just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. I am a Special Education teacher who has been playing golf for 26 of the 34 years of my life. I have been playing more golf than ever during the last year or two but it may be coming to an abrupt halt. I just found out my wife is pregnant with twins!!!! I have been married for 10 years to my high school sweetheart, so I guess its time to have some future golfers. My best score is a 65, which I have shot twice, once with a triple bogey on 17. Hope to have many of my questions answered and maybe be able to answer a few. Good golfing to you all!!!!

  5. Old reliable.....keep your head still!!!!! I see so many players head moving...up and down...back and forth during the swing. Its very hard to be consistant with added movements. I struggle with this myself.
  6. This is my first post so hello to all!!! I usually play well the first few rounds back after an extended layoff, and have heard many of my friends tell stories of great rounds after not playing for months. I think its due to your mental state. After not playing for a while we probably focus more on making solid contact. The more comfortable we start to feel we start trying to shape the ball and try more difficult shots, which can lead to big numbers. I had back surgery a few years back and didnt play golf for 2 years. My first round back I shot 74, but didnt break 80 for the next 5 rounds. Its all in your mind!!
