When i say closed i mean my footline is aimed at the right hand side of the fairway, and i usually push it in the right rough. Im pretty sure im coming from the inside but im blocking it some and im not sure why.

So I have been hitting the ball great lately, except i cannot seem to hit a draw with my driver. My irons i can do it pretty well. but everytime i try to draw my driver i have a closed stance and the ball goes where i aim, with a slight push, and i can't get the thing to turnover, which i need because we have quite a few dogleg lefts at my home course. Does anyone have any thoughts on what i might be doing wrong?

Hahah you're right about that, i remember my dad used to get on me sometimes for straightening out my brims, and he grew up playing baseball. Guess its an age and location thing.

Hard to tell but make sure you're sweeping the ball (catching it on a slight upswing) as opposed to hittting down on the ball like you do an iron

Yeah I think the normal reccomendation for a stiff shaft is 95mph+ so id say a regular flex would be good for you

Yeah thats true, never really thought of it that way but then with that logic we should hit as many fairways as pros because our fairways are wider...like you said its just a little optimistic to putt like a tour pro.

Are you saying he should be putting as good if not better than the average tour pro? I would argue if your make percentage is close to tour average you are putting very well.

How many 1 putts and 3 putts did you have? The quickest way to improve putting is to eliminate 3 putts (just getting the right distance helps with that tremendously) and to me deadly from within 10 feet. Putting is something you HAVE to work at. A couple weeks ago i was struggling with my putter having about 32-34 putts a round. After living on the putting green and making sure i kept my head still I have had 27 and 26 putts my last two rounds hitting 11 and 9 greens.

Well I wear mostly baseball hats on the golf course because I only wear flat brimmed hats (raised playing baseball) , never been a fan of curved bills. However I still do have one Puma golf hat I wear because it is flat brimmed. But most people wear golf hats when they play golf, and golf hats have logos on them.

I Could not imagine playing with only 1 wedge. I have 5 wedges because the majority of my approach shots are within wedge distance and i feel it gives me the best opportunity to score well.

Yeah I really didn't realize how much further i was hitting my irons until today. I went over so many greens today it wasn't even funny! Went over a 163 yard par 3 with a PW! I was hitting my pw about 150. Also wayyy went over a 190 yard par 3 with a 7 iron (thing most have flown 205) used to hit that about 185 max. Granted some of this distance is coming from a better weight transfer but i know alot of it is from a foward shaft lean at impact.

Preciate it yall, it really was the best feeling ive had in a while golfing, and the pro just told me on concentrating getting the butt of the club ahead of the ball.

So I finally broke my stubborn streak today and got my first ever lesson and one of the many thing the pro worked on me with was trapping the ball with irons. WOW you talk about some beautiful shots I mean I was hitting every iron a full club further and longer irons about a club and a half further. Hit one 4 iron 245 yards no joke...just some amazing shots on a beautiful trajectory, had no idea what a difference trapping the ball could make. Man i really wih I would have gotten lessons earlier lol.

Just read on ESPN where he had clearance from the doctor to hit full shots so I don't think hes rushing anything.

This Jay Townsend guy comes across as a complete clown to me. I mean really He pulled a driver on a tight hole in the FIRST ROUND! Who cares dude acts like its the final round and it cost Rory the tournament. I dont get it the guys acting like Rory is out there playing like Tin Cup of something. I really dont have a problem with how Rory responded, sometimes you just got to call an idiot an idiot.

If only i had one lol, as you can tell by my bag im not exactly brand loyal lol. (Except Mizuno irons...they are a gift from god)
