  1. so I pulled the trigger. I went with the tour burner 9.5* in a stiff shaft. Booyah.
  2. well I went to golfsmith today and I swung a bunch into the net.... to be honest they all felt exactly the same. All just felt huge and no real feel. The computer said I have a high launch angle so the salesman recommended a 9.5*. I swung a bunch and he said they all have a built in closed face/draw to them. The computer showed that to be true for me. I just wish they made an open face to sell to the general public. All this being said, I think I am going with a taylormade, just have to decide between the burner and the tour burner.
  3. so after reading a bunch of stuff. I think I need a 1* or 2* open face. Any other manufacturers make some good drivers like this?
  4. okay so I searched ebay for r7 drivers... apparently there are like 100 different types... 460, 425, quad, max, superquad, limited, and TP... I want the smallest head available and I don't want to use weights.
  5. can't you point me to some reviews or tech specs?
  6. will i need to buy weights and wrenches? I really don't want to deal with weights.
  7. ok, so I am a poor student. I have like $75 to spend on a driver. I haven't used one for years but the other day I swung some at the range and loved them. I was looking primarily for a Taylormade, but I don't think I can find any recent models in my price range. I would prefer TM, but I am open to Callaway. Years ago I swung my dads TM Firesole. It was a midsized head and I loved it. So I don't think I want something as huge as the 360ti. Some more info on my swing: I never slice, but I do find that I duck hook drivers sometimes. My swing speed is about 92-96. I think I need a S90. Any advice would be appreciated.
  8. they look pretty good. Third swing looks the best to me. The takeaway on the first looks off for some reason, maybe the plane? or balance issue? total other issue: why are you barefoot? Of course, your handicap is much better than mine so my advice probably wont help.
  9. hey, So I am a dental student. In class we make teeth molds on articulating "jaws." We then "powder" the teeth and close the jaws. The teeth then show little spots where they are impacting the teeth of the other arch. Well my friend had a great idea. How about you powder the face of your club, then hit. You'd be able to see where you impact. Ok, this is a great idea. Have any of you tried it? Baby powder? Spray deodorant? Foot powder spray?
  10. yeah... I know that is the best advice but I rather have good clubs AND get some more lessons.
  11. any have a link to some side by side photos to compare the head sizes of the x-12, x-14, and BH-5s? or at least some tech specs that include head size.
  12. hmm... the x12s are cheaper. In your opinion what makes them superior?
  13. can you point to cheaper x14s? I would be very interested.
  14. okay, so I can get a set of "average" x-14s from Callaway preowned for $200 shipped. I can also get a pretty beat up. Here is a thread with the pictures of them: http://thesandtrap.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23162 So, the pluses of the x-14s are: 1) callaway name 2) callaway preowned guarantees pluses of BH-5 1) cheaper 2) I've at least seen the condition My concern is callaway preowned definition of "average." After scouring ebay, I've found several sets of x-14s that sell for around $175. opinions are much appreciated.
  15. I think I will just pull the trigger on these. I think I can polish them to look a little nicer.... I just love the reviews of these irons. I have been told they are just like the x-14s. Thats what I really want.
