  1. i know TM is coming out with those r7 irons pretty soon. any idea if Mizuno, callaway, or ping will come out with new clubs soon? I'm guessing Titleist put out all their new irons already. trying to decide whether to buy a new set now or wait a little till the new models come out. i'm looking forward to that review of the new r7 irons u mentioned erik
  2. When do companies put out their new golf club lines? I overheard a salesman tell a person to wait a little bit before purchasing new clubs because new ones are coming out soon. Do they hit around fall?
  3. thanks alot for the great feedback. time for me to go to the range with the info i gained.
  4. can anyone compare the forgiveness of the mp-60's, the RAC LT's, the titleist 704's, and the mx-23's? my guess would be something like mx-23 > LT's > mp-60's > 704's ? the mp-60's are supposed to have a slightly increased sweet spot because of their cut muscle tech and i have heard good stuff about the mizuno heads from friends.
  5. thanks for the suggestion but i dont think either would really prove to be a step up from the rac os 2's i already have. i think it just comes down to getting a real "players" club and toughing it out or i guess just sticking with the sticks i already have :( just trying to find that set that can really take me to a new level
  6. i gotta say this stage of my game is pretty awkward for buying clubs. it seems like there arent any clubs that really fit where i am right now. all the clubs are either really game improvement or for those single digit handicappers. i have a feeling i will meet some trouble hitting some forged blades without the huge sweet spot of my previous OS2 but if i move to like the LT's I probably wont see much of a difference. When I went on TM's website I noticed that the R7 XD's and the RAC OS2 are identical, the CGB is almost the same thing and LT's are i guess slightly smaller head with still a good amount of offset. I'm stuck between like the LT's and the 755's/704's. i'm pretty interested in mizuno but their website doesnt give me much info at all. and the mp-60 as well as the mp-32's, which are musclebacks, may be a little too much for my skill level to handle.
  7. ok. thanks alot for your clear response. since i recently changed my putting style I'll give this style a try on my center shafted odyssey 2 ball putter. mr cameron's response seems logical. I also read in one of my almost 10 year old book i found in my house which happens to be the only one i have about breaking 100 in 90 days or something. and i was reading it and they say that if you are left hand dominant (and they have a test where if u just hold it with one hand and u try that with both hands and see which side you are more steadier) that you should get one of those curved shafts but if you are right hand dominant you should get a center shaft. wonder if the hand dominance really means anything when it comes to the putters shaft.
  8. soo is that saying that a square to square putting style is essentially in square in because you arent putting with the ball directly beneath the shoulders. or is mr cameron saying that the only way to putt is with the in to in putting style because the shaft requires it. do u have a picture or can u describe the in sqaure in putting style? i'm very curious because I've lately been playing around with my putting to get it more consistent and I have found that pendulum swinging has worked with my center shafted putter, but i do feel a bit of wrist movement ever so slightly. i am guessing that pendulum is more lifted off the ground than the in square in style. with the pendulum i feel like i lift the club off the ground a bit and i guess the in square in is more of a swing would a center shafted putter work with a in square in style if i were to change?
  9. i'm pretty sure the RAC TP Irons Erik mentioned in his post aren't released yet. and those two clubs are not really what i'm looking for. The r7 XD are almost identical to the RAC OS 2 irons i currently have so thatd pretty much be a waste of money
  10. o ok so your saying taylormade is coming out with a new set of irons? r7 TP irons? any idea when this will be released? as black_black mentioned before, the mp-32's, would those fit me as well? So for TM i should look at the new r7 tp irons coming out or maybe even the LT's mizuno- maybe the mp-32's? Titleist- either 755 or 735's any others? im looking to definitely try out a bunch around my skill level at my local store where they have a projector thing they let me hit at.
  11. so is mr cameron saying since the only way to do square to square putting is between the legs, the only way one can put is in square in? like I think of my putting stroke as a pendulum, but i guess my stroke goes in on the backswing and the follow through even though i think of my swing as a pendulum. or am i wrong in my assumption and there are two different putting styles. I am not quite sure how large the difference is between the two styles and I'm pretty sure my swing is pendulum since thats how I think about it. My father bought me a two ball putter with a center shaft as a gift so i never really put any thought to the difference between center shaft and the hooked type.
  12. Hi I was wondering what some of the more popular iron sets are nowadays. Moving from a super game improvement irons TM RAC OS 2 I'm looking at more workable clubs to hit. I was initially interested in titleist 755's but I went to my local golf store only to find that they didnt carry the new titleist sets because they haven't been selling these days. That didn't really hinder my eagerness to test the 755's but it got me thinking if there were any other good clubs to hit. I am currently around a 16-18 handicap golfer but strike the well and consistently. I need to work on my short game, but I figured I can handle a less forgiving club. I'm looking at the 755's but I also know that Mizuno is very popular and so is the cleveland cg 4. But Im not sure what level the cg4 is for and have no idea which mizuno clubs i should be looking at since their website doesnt help too much. I would also consider another taylormade set since the set i have right now has worked so well for me so far, is the LT set in my range? I need something I could handle right now and learn to hit more precise shots with to get me to a low single digit handicap. Any suggestions with cleveland, mizuno, TM, or Titleist or any other companies.
  13. looks like i not only have to worry about the flex, but also the weight of the club because i just saw today the shafts on my RAC's are only 90g but the Dynamic Gold R300 are in the 120's :/
  14. thanks for the feedback. I need a new 3 wood and 5 wood and didnt realize that the hybrids can't reach as far as a 3 wood. So I guess I'll stick to a traditional 3 wood since I can hit that fairly well anyway and need the distance. Since I 'm looking to replace my 5 wood also, I'm not sure whether I should get a hybrid or not. having a high 5wood distanced shot land on the green and stay there would be great. I hit my fairway woods pretty well hitting about 6 out 10 shots solid. I hit my long irons consistently well so I do not really have a need to replace them with hybrids. However if i replace the 5 wood with a 2 iron lofted hybrid, there would be no downside I guess right? I would just be getting a club which can hit better out of roughs and land on the green and stay there. right? In that case I don't see why everyone doesnt replace thier 5 woods with a 2iron hybrid btw. how are those halo hybrids? Are they the hi bore kind?
  15. Thanks for the reply. So since the tip is softer in the RAC's I might find the R300 Dynamic Gold a little stiffer. Does this mean I should probably look at getting my new irons fitted, or do you think that playing with the R300's shouldn't be too bad. I want to play a few rounds with the set before actually making investments in the clubs.
