  1. Phil, I can assure you it is legitimate. So fire away. Ask me anything. Played Ohio State course growing up. Love it. Live in Charlotte, NC and am there right now. A slim jim has its place...
  2. @KyleReifersPGA
  3. Because the PGA is strict about things like this. Phil, if you don't want to believe me, fine, but I am a tour pro that is offering you guys a chance to learn about the inside of the tour. Phil, this is PGA pro Kyle Reifers. It is official now. So AMA...
  4. David, it was just a comment. I don't think that the PGA should play a different set of rules than other golfers. My background is countless junior events and years of D1 golf.
  5. You make a good point David. I just know from experience that the drops are never a good result. They always nestle down. His situation was so rare that they probably should not replace the rule. I just don't like it because we all have to play by the same rules, but the results are different. He could drop into a poor lie from a bad one and I could drop into flier lie just as easy. I like that you defend your point, however. If there is a raccoon on a PGA Course, you let me know.
  6. Imagine that Kevin Chappell's golf ball had rolled into a flier lie (Before anyone touched it), which is something you want when from 240 out. But a fan picks up his ball, so he has to drop. And he drops it into a bad lie where he has to hit a wedge out. He has just be unrightfully penalized because of a fan's actions. This is the "wildcard"

  8. David, to be 1000% honest with you, I never really read a rule book anymore. If the situation occurs, I call over a rules official. I just used Chappell's case because he could have dropped it in a spot that could have been much worse than it was. And I think that he should be allowed to place the ball at a location no nearer to the hole (Even though he was 250+ out I believe) It creates too much of a wildcard, if you will.
  9. Favorite food is lobster. Nothing like a little Bacardi after a long day. With responsibility of course.
  10. I have had numerous caddies on tour. Unfortunately, sometimes we didn't see eye to eye, but he was probably the only guy on the course rooting for me. I expect him to provide me with confidence when I need it. And respect as I will to him. But sometimes you have to try new options. But I always made sure that we departed on solid terms.
  11. I switched Drivers a couple times last year. Right now I am on the M1 from Taylormade. Love it. Soft, muted sound. I normally play around with Taylormade Ghost Putters. I hit the ball 295 on average. The rule I hate the most is the rule for dropping when a fan picks up a golf ball. Like what happened to Kevin Chappell this year at East Lake. If a fan picks up my ball, that's fine. No worries, but allow me to place it. I shouldn't have to drop it like I hit a bad shot, much like a lateral hazard. I also don't agree with the fines for cursing. PGA golfers are human. We hit bad shots, we do other things than golf, and we curse. Imagine the foul things you would hear if we put microphones to NFL players. Some people might not agree with me on this but I don't think it is fair to put microphones on us in high pressure situations and then fine us when we let off steam.
  12. I am going to start combining answers because you are limited to 9 posts in first 24 hrs. I will be back tomorrow Nicest perk of being on tour is definitely getting to play such beautiful golf courses. My regular off day consist of going to the putting green and rolling putts. I do 3 footers straight uphill (Get the confidence up) 7 footers (Those are the ones that win golf tournaments) 15 footers and 40 footers. Do 3 sets of 10 of those with the 3 and 7 footers needed to be holed and 15 and 40 footers to be tap ins. Then hit 30 balls, playing the front nine of a particular course in my head. On occasion will play 18 with a twist (4 iron off tee) (80% swings) etc Good Questions... No Hacker thats not me.
  13. I don't like to go to the course with swing thoughts. That's for the range. I am a strong believer in the expression "Dance with the Girl that brung ya" So if your stock shot is a draw, you play a draw. That is what Cody Gribble on web.com tour did and Woodland (5 Years ago I think) at Greenbrier. Gribble had a shot that required a fade, for him and he hit his draw because he was comfortable with it. It cost him, but you live and die with the bullet. Same with Woodland, he had to make birdie on 18th and tried to hit a pw 163. He came up short, but no one in my opinion goes after irons harder than Gary. They both played shots that they were comfortable with and it cost them, but I bet they are glad that they didn't try something else and think what if. Very Good Question MDL. If the shot absolutely requires a certain shot shape, (Which it rarely does absolutely require) I take the shortest club that can get it there and hit. At least by taking a low club, it makes me commit in a way to the shot.
  14. MacDutch and Patrick, to answer both your questions I like to play with Patrick Rodgers the most on tour because we have very similar games, so strategically I learn a lot from his shots. I tend to stick to myself on tour, and we are all pretty friendly (Except for a few). I guess Kokrak to answer your question though. Hits it a mile and I always compliment him on it, so we get along well.
  15. I did play college golf, Patrick Reside in the Carolinas
  16. 2nd place finish is my best finish.
  17. No more questions? C'mon guys... Ask Anything (Almost)
  18. Anything but the name... Not sure if allowed to do this from PGA Tour Q School It is my week off from tournaments 2000 each week and 20% of potential earnings. Train and instructed at Sea Island Golf Performance Center in Georgia.
  19. So I am a player on the PGA tour. And today I will be doing an AMA. Please know that the questions have to be reasonable and appropriate. But other than that, fire away! BTW, huge fan of The Sand Trap! Mod Note: This individual has not verified his identity and, given what we know, is highly unlikely to be who he said. Take everything below with many, many grains of salt.
