Well, I have had 1" taken off my shaft it is now 44.5" and a new grip fitted as I didn't like the original Cobra grip at all. Anyway, the pro said that he probably couldn't save the grip. Will get out there and start experimenting with different tees and ball positions. Thanks to all who have answered my post. Ta Ta Brian

Yes, of course you are perfectly correct. I thought that I was asking a bit much but any answer (usually) is a good answer and there is something to be gained from it. Thanks for that. Well the low kick point works that's for sure, I still get a bit of roll on the ball after it hits the deck though. My old Ping Eye 2 driver never went anywhere near that sort of height. It is taking a bit of getting used to. Cheers Brian

I am not sure if this is the correct place for this topic but here goes. I have a Cobra S9.1 Draw driver and it was suggested by my pro to use 2 and 3/8" tees. I have a feeling that they might be too high for me. The driver does make the ball go high but would like it a little lower. The shaft is: Adila DVS - HL 50-R M speed tuned Ball speed 110-140 mph Weight 50g Kick: Low Torque:4.9 Shaft length 45.5" (I am seeing the pro tomorrow to possibly get it shortened to 44" as I am only 5'6" tall). I have very little idea as to what all this means particularly Kick:Low I am sure that you experts out there could give some advice on tee height. Thanks in anticipation Brian

No, the ones that I have now found are called 'Almost Golf' balls, another make is 30% Distance Practice Balls which are cheaper. Both can be found on Amazon UK, I don't know about the USA Amazon. I have ordered 18 of the 30% balls for £6.99 ($11). They have a hard outer coating with a soft inner and will go just the same as a real ball i.e. fade, draw, slice, hook but will only go about 30% of the distance of a real ball. I believe that a driver will knock one about 80 - 100 yards. Brian

Are Wiffle balls the ones with holes in? If so, they are not those. I found some on Amazon called 'Almost Golf'. There are some others called 30% Distance Practice Balls. They will spin just like a real ball so will draw or fade (or hook or slice). The beauty is they only go about 30% of the distance of a real ball and will not cause damage to anything. In the early 90's, when space was tight I used to practice with hard plastic balls. These used to travel about 30% of the distance of a real ball. I have looked everywhere for these to no avail. Does anyone know if they are still made? If so, where can I get them? I am in the UK. Thanks Brian

In the early 90's I bought a swing training aid which consisted of belts that went around the upper arms and various other parts of the body. Unfortunately I cannot remember any more about it. I now need something to stop my right elbow from going all over the place. Does anyone remember anything like that? If so, are they still available? Am I correct in saying that the right elbow should be kept fairly tight to the side? Thanks Brian

I am considering buying a Cobra M Speed Offset fairway wood, probably a five wood to go with my driver of the same make. Has anyone any experience with these? I cannot find any reviews on the fairway version anywhere. I would prefer to buy Cobra simply because I prefer to have the same brand although my irons are Ping's. Maybe a Ping fairway wood be OK? I actually bought the Cobra 9.1 as it was the only one of four different ones tried that I consistently hit straight(ish). Very impressed so far.

I have just ordered Cleveland Sand Wedge 588RS from ebay for £16 which I think is good value. The reason I needed another sand wedge is that the course I play on has a very gritty sand in the bunkers. This has ruined my Ping Eye 2 Copper Beryllium sand iron. My question is, as this 588RS club was designed for idiots like me to get out of bunkers easier does that mean that I don't have to open my stance and clubface? I know that the best way to find out is to try it and see but was wondering if the experts out there could give me some advice. Thanks in advance Brian

I have just bought a HillBilly Terrain electric trolly which I have yet to take onto the course. My probably stupid question is this: If neither front wheel or back wheels are on a castor type swivel system how do you steer them left or right? Do you have to tip back with the front wheel off the floor then swivel it in the direction needed or what?I thought it would be better to have the two wheels on the front and a single wheel at the back which will swivel this would make it much easier to steer the thing. I have just bought a used but good Powakaddy bag. It has a 'pocket' on the outside. It is about 4" wide and 18.5" long. Both ends are open so I have no idea what it is for. I was hoping it could be used as an external putter pocket. There is the usual facility for an umbrella so it's not for that. Any ideas? Thanks Brian

As I am an old fogey I am considering putting new shafts on my Ping Eye 2+ Beryllium Copper irons. I need to know the tip size before I buy the shafts (senior 'A' shafts). Does anyone know what size I will need? Also where is the best, cost wise, place to buy them? (I am in the UK but the USA might be OK as they generally do quite fast delivery). Thanks for all of your answers. I have bought a Ping Tour 58 degree wedge off ebay for £21 which I think is good value. The Ping Eye 2 wedges are quite difficult to get in the UK, especially the Copper Beryllium ones. I have been hitting my Ping Eye 2 woods and they are just as good as I remember. Cheers Brian

I am considering putting in a bid on ebay. There are two clubs I am interested in, Ping Zing Lob and standard wedges. I am not really sure which one to bid on (if any). I think the Lob wedge is 58 degrees and the pitching wedge 46 degrees. I would imagine that the best option is the Lob but any suggestions would help. I have Ping Eye 2+Copper Beryllium but cannot find a suitable wedge which is why I am looking at the Zings which are copper Beryllium.. Thanks Brian

I have always used petrol as the solvent, works very well and the smell does go after a short time.

About 1990 or thereabouts, I bought a set of Ping Eye 2 woods 1, 3, 5 & 7. I subsequently sold them in 1994. I now have the same woods (not the exact same) and I seem to remember that the loft on the driver was given by a colour code. Mine was a red dot driver then and the one I have now is a black dot. Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks in advance Brian
