  1. So I'm considering getting a membership this year, and the price is $350. You get unlimited use of the range and short game areas including pitching, chipping, sand traps, and putting. It sounds like a good deal for me because this year I'm really planning on cutting a big chunk off of my handicap. I'm in Canada if the price is different here than it is in the states. It's $11 for a large bucket at the place, and normally $5/hour for the short game area. I'm more wondering what other people are paying for memberships if anyone else has one and whether or not I should look around more. Thanks to anyone who can offer some advice.

    Cheater!!!!!!

To be honest, I have always seen golf as a solo sport. Unless you're actually in an organized competition, you're only competition is yourself. If the guy wants to cheat, who cares. He's only cheating himself. If he brags, just tell him that he sucks and that he doesn't play in accordance to the rules and laugh it off.
  3. Usually whenever I play with a really new beginner I'll suggest best ball to them. Let them take their tee shot, if it's pretty much gone, just let them drop a ball near another player and play that shot. It let's them get all the shots in in a game and doesn't slow the pace down. If they're that new then I assume they're not that concerned with scoring. Just playing a practicing still gets accomplished this way.
  4. About 75 yards out on a botched tee shot on a par 3, I put it about a foot from the pin to save par. It was quite satisfying.
