I like the idea of that one uscfan, thanks! So is there a lot of bars and other places to stay within walking distance in la quinta? We would like to be in a location where we can play golf during the day then be able to hit a couple of bars at night, without having to do much driving. Also, on the cheap side, but right now not sure what everyone's budget is. Indian Wells seems pricey, is there anywhere else around to stay and/or play that is cheaper just in case anyone wants to be cheap, or is that more in palm springs? Your help is appreciated.

Never been out there to golf so not sure exactly what location we'll be staying in. Just trying to figure out the places to stay as well as golf without having to do too much driving around. Would like to be near by to some bars after the rounds, and true, don't think palm springs is as big a party town as it once was back in the day. I'll have to check that website out, thanks!

What's up everyone! Planning a bachelor party trip to Palm Springs in May 2011, trying to find some good suggestions on places to stay/play, how to find good packages, any good websites for information, so forth. Would love to see what others have done in the past or suggestions! thanks, JB

still trying to find "THE ONE". It seems, unlike irons where you can get fitted for your particular style, a putter will just be a feel thing. I'm going to have to continue trying more out. I do know one thing, I would like a heavier weighted putter, where as my Taylormade feels light, feels like it moves side to side on the backstroke, mis-hitting too many putts.

Hi all, Right now I'm playing with a 35" Taylormade Rossa Fontana mallet style putter. I've been so-so with it, sometimes it feels too light, I've even tried to add a jumbo size grip on it(which I really really love!) but the problem is, sometimes I don't feel it. As well though, whenever I go to the local Roger Dunn and try other putters, I just dont' know what to look for. Is there a method to determine what might be the best style of putter for you? Meaning, blade vs. mallet, or better yet, the shaft style. Should it be a straight shaft, a bent shaft, straight shaft in the middle, or now, Oddessey has that crazy slant back style shafted putter. I'm assuming the majority of it is just what feels right to you, however, when I'm sitting there demo'ing everything in the store, EVERYTHING FEELS RIGHT! lol! I'm thinking there is a method of determining what is right for the individual, hopefully I can find that answer! thanks for reading my long post!

thanks for all the help with the driver fellas. Since I bought this driver used at a Roger Dunn shop, it had a changed out grip, thus, not having the reference points on the grip. I think that's what was throwing me off the whole time. I did my best to change it more to a draw setting, which I think I did, however, I swear I'm slicing the ball much more than I ever did with my Taylor Made R7 Draw I had before. I returned the driver to Roger Dunn and swapped it for a Callaway Diablo, I'm going to give that one a try. Roger Dunn has a awesome return policy. Let's see how this baby works out!

thanks for your input darkprince and J_Bone..... Hey J_Bone, this may sound dumb, but when I look at those directions, I was hoping that there is some kind of wording. I mean, just trying to understand how to start the lineup process, yellow arrow on the shaft to ....etc. I'll be giving those directions a try. Oh ya, I think the batteries are dead in the wrench, hopefully switching them will save me from buying some new ones.

Hi all, I just bought the Nike Dymo Str8-fit driver from Roger Dunn used yesterday, but I didn't get the instruction manual on setting the driver. Does anyone know how to get one, I've been looking all over for one, or even if someone just knows the workings of setting the driver to my own preference. It seems like a nice driver, I just want to figure out how to set it any help is appreciated!

I went to the la golf show last year, and thought I was going to get a lot of info. However, all it felt like was a bunch of set up tents of the club brands, and you just walk up and smack balls against a net. Other than that, the Roger Dunn Store had like a third of the convention center in the back to sell a bunch of used clubs, and the rest were golf vacation package sellers. I was a bit disapointed. I really don't know what type of club I want, though I was really really impressed with the set up I've seen online at Cleveland in Hungtingbeach. I just wish I knew what to do. I don't know whether I should just go to a Roger Dunn or something where I can just hit golf balls against a net(which I don't like) Or find a fitter with a swing monitor, or something. I always here to get fitted, yet I can't find anywhere! This is frustrating!

I think the greatest thing about the new clubs that come out this year means last year's models are cheaper! I really can't see that much difference, hell, even '08-07 models would be fine I think.

I've played the same piece of crap top flight irons for years. I'm ready to finallly get new irons, yet I've not pulled the trigger yet due to everywhere I read it says you should get fitted. However, problem is, where do you go? I don't want to just go in somewhere and it feel like a impersonal experience, especially due to the fact that I'm spending some serious money. I've been wanting to improve for years, it just seems like you can't find the right help on equipment. Anyone in the area have any ideas?
