  1. Hmm. Thank you for trying to view them. This is the "embed link" from vimeo. Does this work? If not, I guess i'm out of luck : /
  2. Hi! I've just joined here yesterday, I am very new to golf and I would be grateful for any advice on how to prioritize the many things going wrong with my swing. I've been Playing Golf for: 5 months My current handicap index or average score is: about 120 My typical ball flight is: well, it's always been straight, but it just doesn't go anywhere. I used to top it all the time but that is somewhat better now. The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: I'm trying to eliminate the part where my shot goes 20 yards. I have torn my oblique (playing golf, yes) so these are not full speed shots however, they are exactly how I look. (Sigh.) Since I can't go play golf right now I have been trying to work on drills and small movements but I Realize I am not sure what to work on or why things are not working out better for me. I always have a chicken wing at impact. I always seem to turn with my shoulders / upper body and end up swinging over / above the ball. I have only recently realized I should shift the weight to my left leg (i thought it had to stay centered the whole time) and the that has helped; i used to top it 80% of the time (honestly, I don't know how i've persevered as long as I have!!) I appreciate your thoughts. Thanks for looking at these!! Videos: I hope I have embedded these. front view: https://vimeo.com/user110774000/review/519159426/a8284797e4 down the line: https://vimeo.com/user110774000/review/519159163/3e7b0e6c8b
  3. Billy, no, but there are sometimes snakes, although Ihaven't seen any personally but I've seen LOTS Of twisted sticks on the ground that have scared the crap out of me -- i don't know if that counts or not? Also, there is a bat tree on the front nine in Lusaka, it is a huge tree and has enormous bats in it for half the year (then they migrate). So, that's cool!
  4. thanks for your kind words and encouragement. I remain hopeful : ) Zambia has quite a few courses, I've just played golf a few months so i have only gotten to two of them but it is nice AND affordable to play here! (like, really affordable.) It's ben the rainy season now since as long as I'v been playing golf, though, so you have to be flexible. Before Covid there were tournaments every weekend, some international and some just statewide, but those are all on pause for the next few months, anyway.
  5. Hi! I have just started playing golf. I"m amazingly, traumatically terrible and I do many things wrong, but somehow I REALLY am crazy for golf!! I of course wish I could be better. I have had a few lessons and now been trying to teach myself, more or less, with videos and online things for the past few months -- I won't even list them all, lol -- but am finding it perhaps more confusing than it needs to be. I'm happy to be here, I have just torn my obliques (yes, playing golf) so am at a good point to reset my game (all four months of it!) and see if I can get some things straight.
