Try one with duct tape and grip stay on better. It is a little bit harder to install compare to gliding on blue tape. BTW pure pro materials is very thin compared to pure combo at the top part. show. how I can twist the grip after installed with +4 blue tape.

Thanks @iacas I was thinking also the blue painter tape might be the cause. Doesn’t matter one layer or +4, steel shaft or graphite. I believe all my shaft (ping G30) are 600 just one of my loft is 580 which I add about 4 layer of tape plus +4 on lower hand.

Anyone have problem with pure grip twisted after a round of golf? After tried out a few pure grips “pure combo”, I like the material and ordered the rest to complete all my clubs. I also ordered some pure pro to try out. Past Wednesday after a round of golf I noticed the logo and alignment mark is not where is should be. I thought I didn’t install correctly but upon more investigation most of the grips were twisted, some more some less. I can even twisted the grips around just with my fingers/hand. I air install the grip with one layer of blue tape.

Finally decided to install Carl’s divot hitting strip on my old very compacted mat. I can see the difference between area that had been used (softer and more flexible turf) compare to other with compacted more like hitting on hard dirt. The problem is divot strip sit higher compare to my rawhide mat and move quite a lot almost every hit.

Should I Switch to Undersize Grip?
hoonnirun replied to hoonnirun's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Thanks I think I got it right this time. It still feel softer but firm and I don’t feel shaft end. BTW this is what adapter I’m talking about. -
Should I Switch to Undersize Grip?

Finally installed, SuperStroke on Driver and Pure grip on hybrids. Already have a round with SuperStroke. It is soft but not as tacky as tour wrap. For pure grip just received today and installed one on hybrid to test out since I never play with +4 grip. I do have a few questions, though. First of all I use regular tire inflator to install the grip. The butt end of pure grip seems to have a little give compared to those tour velvet or SuperStroke. Is this normal? I also ordered that green attachment, as little as I know the thread is larger than regular tire inflator, is there any adapter that I can use attachment with regular tire inflator thread? -
Should I Switch to Undersize Grip?
hoonnirun replied to hoonnirun's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Update, undersize grip wasn’t for me. With standard grip and 1 tape my finger tip still touch my palm and I feel more firm grip but not tight. The grip tour wrap, shiny part become dull just from 2 practice sessions. I ordered SuperStroke traxion wrap and pure grip combo to try out because I want something softer than tour velvet. Any other grips should I try that not too pricey? -
Should I Switch to Undersize Grip?
hoonnirun replied to hoonnirun's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Thanks, I have undersize TW installed on 6-iron, I was thinking about pitching wedge but I don’t have any problem with old grip and can hit the ball as straight as it can be. Kind of comfort issue but I’m not sure it it related to size of grip. At course I don’t have any problem for the whole 18 holes, at home after about 20-30 balls I found myself adjust my grip quite a bit. I tried a few hit to net after installed the grip and I feel my tail wrist flip more than usual. I will see what happen at driving range. -
I’m wearing gloves size small and normally use tour velvet standard size. I happened to get hybrid clubs with crossline undersize grip and I kind of like it. Should I switch grips on iron to all undersized? I started to install my own grips because I found out the shop didn’t remove old tape just add another layer on top and made some clubs feel a little awkward. I recently self install (air) two grips one with tour velvet standard 0.60 and another with tour wrap undersized 0.58. TV standard 1 layer of blue tape, I usually grip down about an inch. TW underside 1 layer of blue tape.

I need to practice my tempo and orange whip might help me when I’m on the course. Any one have one laying around unused and wanna get rid at good price for beginner?

After I few minutes of pratice I saw this, it is even more obvious with 7 hybrid. Is the why I have quite a few more shrank ball lately? How should I fix this?

Golf is hard really. The last few months my scores were really up and down, just missed on something that so simple. I can see my putting getting better about 2.5 per hole and 3-4 GIR. My driver finally find the fairway instead of dead slice. I’m back to be able to hit some 6-7 iron even though they came out short. I’ve been working on, shorten my back swing and arm parallel to shoulder. Hopefully this is the right move. BTW haven’t play any for the past two weeks and it’s suck. https://youtube.com/shorts/fCUwqLQxIs8?feature=share

Hitting Down, Golf Mat and Injury?
hoonnirun replied to hoonnirun's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Yeah I’ve been looking for that too. I saw a guy diy his own strip on YouTube a couple days back. How do you like that mat. Should I just cat portion off my own mat to fit that strip? -
Hitting Down, Golf Mat and Injury?
hoonnirun replied to hoonnirun's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Can I buy those in section or strip to add to this mat? Or any better way to compress the ball without hitting down? Seriously I have been checking out different mat including divot action mat. It is totally different feel when hitting 5W, the bounce is so bad I don’t pratice wedges on this mat. On the course I can’t hit the ball as good as when on the mat (might be my swing not completely mat fault ) -

Does my mat prevent me from hitting down? I don’t feel good when hitting down on the mat with 7-i. The feedback and vibration kind of hurt my wrist and elbow after a few day of hard practice. The distance is also not as good compare when I hit like sweeping motion (less divot). I don’t have this problem with those 4i 5h or 5W. Is it my swing or the mat? What can I do with the mat for better result? Can I add layer of exercise cushion under the mat, on hitting from short rubber tee? Im not which mat is this, old mat from a nice golf course, very thick bottom layer and very heavy (70-100lb for 5’x5’) Please don’t move this post to my swing section, thanks.

Thanks, I was thinking about using air compressor too but don’t have any only 12v tire compressor. I have read about grip twisted after awhile with air install. For others, I used vise clamp and grip holder, maybe if I install the grip inside garage might be easier. I watched a lot of you tube instructions before attempted myself. which portable air compressor would you guy recommend? Accessory?

This is the first time I attempted to install my own grips. The issue is the shop that I have them re-grip last time did not remove the old tape just add layer of tape after another. I felt some of my clubs feel more comfortable than others until I got new fairway wood, that I think the added up layer cause this. First off, it is not easy at all, the thinner seems to dry too fast and make it hard to push the grip in. The tape “golf works” not wide enough and leave some gap at the end of shaft, make big clump inside of the grip(wasted one grip). I make sure to wet inside the grip and on the tape really well. I installed the grip outside with a little bit of wind and 65 temp. My question is, I did 4 clubs so far and two grips are stretched a little about 1/2”. Will I see a big effect on those stretched ones? Should I re-grip? Any tips to make install new grips easier? I might have to cut off old grip, remove old tape and have the shop install the grips. The shop charges about 2 dollars extra each grip with installation.

I’m going to install a bag mount on my friend golf cart but have no idea which one would fit. He got Evolution golf cart. I even look at their website but can’t find any information. Have anyone seen one and can point me to the right direction? Picture of golf cart

I might get 7 hybrid for long par 3 and dump 4i out of my bag. I only carry 5 wood and 5 hybrid so still have room for other club. The only concern I have with hybrid is I’m gonna be able to make it hold on the green. I might have to learn how to layup at 70-100 yards for my PW/GW.

Or maybe I tee a little too low and create too much back spin? Why I see one of the ball fall back and down into lake 🥲🥲. I was trying to lower my tee or move the ball closer/further to center line and I remember only hit the ball pretty good on one of the hole (ball flight lower and baby fade 230-240 yards)
-
Thank you, I also got my first rigid birdie on short par 4, 365 yards. My lucky day I would say 😁😁😁. As far as my set, I’m using Ping G30. I do practice iron all the time and hit them pretty solid at driving range or at home on mat. Once I’m on the course, mentality change I guess.

Thanks but it is gonna be hard for me to get those numbers. I don’t have a unit that capable of and I don’t know if any driving range near me provide such equipment. I only know my club speed around 80-85mph and ball speed 115-120mph.
