I would like to as well. I'm like Ryan though, it's gonna take me a while to get back also. Currently rehabbing from knee surgery and this time last year it was hand surgery. Hopefully in a couple of months I can join up with you guys. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Zeg, you are right. There are all kinds of interpretations made by man, but as a Christian, I believe Jesus is still the only source of truth. So what He has to say concerning salvation is not complicated at all in my opinion. As I see it, the only sin attributable to man is the sin of un-belief. That's the only sin that can truly be repented of. It can't be forgiven, it can only be repented of. It is the unpardonable sin. In John 16:7-9, Jesus tells his disciples that he is going away and that he will send a helper to them, (the Holy Spirit). In verses 8 and 9 it says; "And when He (Holy Spirit) has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgement: Of sin, because they don not believe in me ;" So the worlds sin according to Jesus is un-belief in Christ. So in the old testament you had the Father who was testifying of the Son who was coming; you have in the Gosples the recordation of the Son who came; and then the Holy Spirit's role in our lives today is to testify about the Son who came and who is coming again. You've now denied the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. That's why Jesus was able to say that the world's sin is un-belief in me. As far as differing interpretations among Christians, I just don't see how this is difficult to interpret. Again, it comes down to Jesus question, "who do men say that I am?". If I believe he is God, then I take what he say's at face value, that salvation is found in Christ and Christ alone. Just remember, just because someone proclaims to be Christian doesn't mean that they are. There are plenty of "professors" but not "possesors". This statement isn't directed at anyone personally on here, just at your quote.

Good post Brugz! I'm right there with ya Brother!

Did you read about the spiral ct scan they documented with photos for all to see that proves they have not been tampered with?

Well, I thought I posted a reply with pictutes. Don't know what happened to it but it probably had something to do with the size of the pictures being to big. I don't know how to downsize them for posting. Anyway, here's a link with the pictures I wanted to show. The pictures, from the same Paluxy area as above, include: Dinasour track covering human track; large cat track, and plenty of other human footprints. AND, they do very thorough testing proving their authenticity. Let me know if you think it's just another "case of creationist willful ignorance and dishonesty." http://www.bible.ca/tracks/delk-track.htm http://www.bible.ca/tracks/tracks.htm

Check my join date genious. If I would have "come here just to spread the word or something" I would have done it a month ago. How many times do you want me to repeat myself? I have already answered that. Can you answer this from the website link without making me laugh again? "What is surprising is that human footprints are fossilized in the same rock stratum, with some of the human tracks fossilized as actually stepping into the dinosaur tracks." "According to evolutionary theory, dinosaurs died out 60 million years before man, with his distinctive footprint, walked on the face of the earth. But here is a fact, preserved in stone for anyone to see, proving that man and dinosaur lived at the same time."

Here ya go Zeg. I don't really want to take the time looking up reference and posting it all on here, besides I am starting to get a little burned out with all this. I very seldom post on message boards anyway. So I will offer these resources if you want to check them out. I'm sure there are more, these are just two in my possesion that I don't have a problem reccommending. "The New Evidence That Demands a Verdict" Josh McDowell "The Signature of God/The Handwriting of God" Grant R. Jefrey A simple search on the internet turned up these sites. I gave a brief look and both look reasonably good to me. I'm sure anyone who really wants to know for themselves could find more. http://www.newcreationstudies.org/NewCreation/proof.htm http://www.clarifyingchristianity.com/b_proof.shtml

Very Good Post Foz! That sums up my feelings on all counts as well. I have no doubt that if all who have posted on this thread lived in the same community, the majority of us could go out and play a round of golf together and get along just fine. In my place of employment we have all kinds of differing lifestyles and beliefs, and sometimes, well rarely, we have spirited discussions as we have here, but through the years we have remained very good friends and would do whatever neccessary to come to one anothers aid if needed. I'm not a fruit inspector, and there's no Christian check at the front door of church either. I can criticise the sin but not the sinner, if I want to do that then I need look no further than myself.

Hmmm, I don't know about the golf part. I see the Tx A&M; emblem on your greenside avatar and I'm a bigtime Longhorn fan. That might get more heat than these posts! Just Kidding,,,, maybe It's gonna be a while untill I can golf. I'm coming off knee surgery, that's why I have so much time on my hands to play on this forum. Believe me though, I can't wait to get out of this house!

Thank you Brugz! And right back at ya!

Funny how many of you put me into the catagory of a lunatic because I supposedly took the one scripture above as proof that God wrote the entire Bible. Did you just stop reading right there and not even notice the two supporting paragraphs of evidence within the Bible I provided to document my belief? Personaly, I didn't need such proof when I came to Christ, I accepted Him by faith. However, as I have grown in understanding of the Bible, the utterly astounding evidence throughout Scripture with its pinpoint accuracy, in all the areas mentioned above in quote, prooves to me that God has to be the author as stated. I didn't need that proof but it just strengthens my faith even more. So many of you here are convinced beyond a shadow of doubt, of belief in the big bang theory, evolution, etc. because of so-called scientific proofs. You have absolute solid facts therefore it has to be true. Yet you have absolute, solid, verifiable, documented proofs and facts of the Bibles authenticity yet you dismiss it as pure garbage. Talk about your hypocrites! In the final analysis, both of us could be wrong but only one of us could be right. If I am wrong, I have lost nothing. But I didn't accept Christ as a fire insurance policy. I came to Him for life. What does a dead man need? Life. We all came into this world dead spiritually, without the Spirit of God living in us, because of the consequences of one man, Adam. Jesus said, "I have come that you may have life." And the kind of life that He gave me is eternal because of the eternal consequences of the cross, where He dealt with sin (which is what caused death) once and for all. In Gods eyes there is only one sin attributal to man, the sin of un-belief. That's the only unforgivable sin, and the only sin that can truely be repented of. That's why Jesus said "the worlds sin is unbelief in me." In my understanding of Scripture, because of the cross, all sins, of every person on Earth, have been taken away, never to be seen again. That doesn't mean though that every person is saved. Getting our sins forgiven doesn't provide salvation, it provides forgiveness. So with the sin issue dealt with once and for all He can offer us life. And this life is found in His resurrected life. As the Apostle Paul said "without the ressurrection, we are still dead in our sins and to be pitied of all people." If Jesus never arose to life, then He had no life to offer. So that's what I believe Christianity to be. I believe that salvation is found only in Christ and Christ alone and that at the moment of my salvation I stepped out of Adam into Heaven and He stepped out of Heaven into me, filling me with the Holy Spirit, which is the gaurantee of my eternal inheritance. So there you have it, that's what I will take with me to my grave. You take what you want to your grave and I will take what I want, and we will see what happens next. Sorry post was so long, you can start revving your engines now and get ready to run over me again.

Job 40 and 41. If dinosaurs have been extinct for 65 million years, how could a writer of the Bible have accurately described the appearance, food, and habitat of this creature?

There are plenty of things written in the Word of God and later discovered scientifically that proves undoubtedly that God is the author. Christian scientist such as Galileo understood this, so did Kepler, Descartes, von Leibnitz, Newton, Pascal, and more. 2 Timothy 3:16a "all scripture is given by inspiration of God." Therefore I believe God wrote every single word of it. There is so much scripture that proves the authenticity of the Bible as the Word of God that it astoundes me how any sane person could reject it. You won't find one single mistake in God's word. What you will find is science, hydrology, astronomy, geology, meteorology, and physiology. You will find all kinds of scriptrue revealling these, hundreds even thousands of years before science ever came along. I could add biology, archaeology, anthropology, and other sciences, and still find that every time the Bible touches on these things it is absolutely accurate. My favorite proof of Scripture is prophecy. Prophecies that have come to pass years after they were uttered. Their amazing accuracy leaves us with but one conclussion, they were authored by God. Just a book? You don't have a clue

Well I agree wholeheartedly with you about organized religion. It's not religion that saves us, it's Christ and Christ alone that I put my faith in. Being a Baptist doesn't save me, being a Catholic doesn't save me, neither does Church of Christ, Mormon, or any other denomination or sect. The legalism in a lot of churches today make me want to puke! Makes me wonder if they have ever even opened up the New Testament, "we are no longer under law, but grace." In my opinion, since we are living in the New Covenant, then pastors should teach the majority of time out of the NT. But organized religion says no, we have to keep the congregation under control so we will just keep them under the bondage of legalism, tradition, and whatever else they can browbeat you with. That's partly what I believe organised religion does. They are so steeped in tradition and legalism that they have lost all sence of truth. Then you have the Muslim extremist that teach that all Christians should be killed for not believing in Allah. I think I have gone off in my own little world since I am watching the olympics and talking to wife at same time as writing this so sorry if it didn't make any sence at all.

Why are you limiting it to "mostly white, western believers"? I'm sure you've heard of John 3:16, "for God so loved the world ..." Every person on Earth has the opportunity to accept Christ. If you have a problem with my faith then that's your choice. It's not our faith but the object of our faith. My faith is in Jesus Christ, the one "who loved me and gave himself for me". I put my complete trust in Him and that His word is truth. And according to Acts 4:12, "there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." You can put me in the camp that everyone on Earth that doesn't put their faith and trust in Christ as Lord of all will be subject to eternity in Hell. It really comes down to the age old question doesn't it? Jesus asked, "who do men say that I am"? If you believe in Him and trust Him for salvation then you also accept His Word, and He speaks very clearly that Jesus is the only way to salvation. I believe God's own testimony on salvation to be true: "And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life." 1 John 5:11,12 So what it comes down to is, you don't have a problem with our faith. You have a problem agreeing with God. You choose to deny Christ, we choose to accept Him. That's called free will.
