As you can see from my name I’m still no good at golf. I just started, but admittedly it is 1000000x tougher then I thought. Anyway, as expected, many of my tee shots end up everywhere but the fairway. When I tee up I set the tee and ball in the ground quickly, I don’t care what angle its at so long as the ball stays on top. My golfing buddy (who’s much better then me) says I should take the time to tee it up right and get it as straight up as possible. I tell him that once I start hitting straight I’ll worry about the little things. Who do you agree with please? (6 pack on the line, majority wins) Can the tee placement ever really affect your shot? Thanks

too embarresed, but as you can see my handicap is 50+. meaning Im around 120 - 130. Actually shot a 100 one day, 45 and 55 on each 9, but it was an easier course, no water etc. Still was good but Im back to my regular handicap

Well, its a combination of shots. From 1st hole my Tee shot was pretty bad so I practically gave up on the hole, but somehow my next 3 were awesome landing an 8 iron from 125 yards out 3 feet next to pin, 1 putt in for my first par 5. Rest of the course was lousy,too much full of confidence like I conquered the game

In between jobs. So I am a PT sports official, PT golfer for cheap. Just started this last fall in Chicago, many good rates especially twilight, so not looking forward to the summer full prices. Need to be on the range for another year anyhow
