  1. Is the adaptor on the Taylor Made SLDR hybrids made completely of metal or is it partially metal and partially plastic. I want to install better quality shafts. I want to know this before applying heat to the adaptor to prevent destroying it with a heat gun. Lew
  2. Guys, thanks for your input. I will be buying a hybrid next month and leaning towards the Callaway X2 Hot for now. Lew
  3. I want to get #3 and #4 hybrid clubs. I have narrowed down my choices to the following: Callaway X2 Hot, Titleist 913H and Ping G25. I am a senior golfer, with a swing speed between 75- 80 mph with a slightly fast downswing. Looking for a forgiving hybrid that won't penalize you greatly on hits off center. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Lew
  4. Guys, thanks very much for the input. Lew
  5. Thanks for the info guys. Lew
  6. I'm looking at buying a Cobra Amp Cell driver. My question is this: does anyone know if the Fujikura Fuel shaft in this driver is the same as the ones sold on ebay for over $200.00 or is it of lesser quality built to Cobra's specs? I know that the Fuel shaft sold alone is normally black with orange striping, while the Cobra shaft is mostly a white color with graphics. Lew
  7. I was looking at another golf forum and saw that a driver head the SMT AF460c Driver will be offered soon. They only had one picture of it and was wondering if anyone has seen more pics of it from various angles? Lew
  8. Would appreciate any suggestions on removing the shaft from the Callaway X Hot driver. Lew
  9. I am going to reshaft my Callaway X Hot driver which has an adjustable hosel. Do I have to remove the screw and pull the shaft from the head first? If not, what is the correct way to remove the shaft without damaging the adapter? I will be using a hydraulic shaft puller to remove the shaft. I have never had to reshaf an adjustable hosel driver. Appreciate any suggestions. Lew
  10. I bought the Solus wedge since it was significantly cheaper and found out from another forum that the designer of the Solus wedge is the same guy who is selling the Renegar wedge. Lew
  11. I noticed that Solus Golf has a new version of the wedge they sold a few years ago for sale. The Solus wedge looks almost identical to the Renegar's wedge. Both wedges have the cutout in the sole. Can anyone compare the two wedges and how they play? Lew
  12. Erik, I understand where Desmond is coming from since he has no club making or clubfitting experience. I never shoot anyone down for trying get info out on their new golf product. My impression is that he appears to be negative on most of his comments. Thanks for omitting him from this thread. Lew
  13. Desmond, are you aware that a component company named Tour Swing has a driver head named the "XPLODE", so I guess you feel this is also a bad name too. Lew
  14. Desmond, are you just a golfer or are you also a clubmaker/clubfitter? I have been custom building golf clubs for over 15 years and never had a customer come back dissatisfied. You seem to have a problem which I can see in LBlack14's comment to you. Lew
  15. I noticed a lot of comments on a couple of golf forums about the Bomb Tech Grenade driver after asking if anyone has ever hit it. Has anyone on this golf forum hit it, and if so, what are your comments on it. Lew
  16. Some have stated to FLO the shafts in a vertical position without the head on, but using a weight between 200 to 250 grams. I can understand doing it this way, but once I have found the FLO and marked it on my shaft, do I place that mark in the 12:00 o'clock position or at the 9:00 o'clock position? Lew
  17. I floed a set of shafts and marked each shaft with a line on masking tape indicating the flo. However, in the process of finding the flo, I had each club head on the shaft and also marked the head with a line on masking tape which was aligned with the flo. Then, I experimented by taking the flo line and setting it in the 9:00 position with the head on which I have read many club makers talk about, but when I turned on the attached laser and twanged the shaft with the head on, I did not get a straight line. But, when I aligned both the line on the iron head to the line on the shaft in the 12:00 position, the laser was showing a very straight line. So, here is my question. When I assemble this set of irons should I align them with the line marked on the shaft with the line marked on each iron head? Lew
  18. Thanks guys for the info. The RAZR X irons do not appear to be bore through. Lew
  19. My Callaway RAZR X irons need to be bent to 2 degrees upright after going through a fitting. What type of stainless steel is used for these iron heads? I need to know if I can have them adjusted by a club maker locally. If they are 17-4 stainless steel I would ship them to Callaway for this lie adjustment? I sent and email to Callaway before New Years, but no answer as of today. Lew
  20. Beachcomber, many thanks for your input. I will be making a decision on one of these Taylor Made mallet putters soon. Lew
  21. I am looking at a few Taylor Made mallet-type putters.. Very interested in the TaylorMade Japan ST-72 Stingray Ghost Putter, the Manta or Spider S. Would appreciate anyone who has had any experience with any of these three putters and looking forward to your comments. Lew
  22. What type diameter shaft do the DX3 irons take? Lew
  23. Tristan, thanks for the info, but tried on some True shoes. Toe box was wide enough, but the shoe did not seem to have enough lateral support for me. Lew
  24. The trouble with the Ecco line of spineless shoes is that they don't offer wide widths which I need. They are based in Europe and still have that European mentality that Americans don't have wide feet. If they offered wide widths they could be making even more money, but stupidity reigns. Lew
  25. This is the shoe I am asking about. Lew Previous Next
