I am taking notes as I read this forum!LOL I was thinking alot about doing this and then I found this thread. I guess it depends on how serious you are and how far you want to go.

This is pretty cool. I haven't had much of a chance to get to my local course, so I practice in the living room on the carpet. Mainly I am doing distance control with my putter. I will putt and try to softly tap the couch, or putt down the hall and softly tap the door. I will definately try this though. Thanks!

being a true beginner (I have only played a par3 9 hole course twice), I have found the overlapping grip alot more comfortable than the interlocking. My first lesson and round, I used the interlocking and just couldn't get used to it. The next time I used an overlapping grip and had an easier time getting the ball straight down the fairway. It has made this addicted and learning experience alot more fun. fortunately for me, I found this out very early.
