  1. Ah, makes sense. Is there a "standard" for fairway woods? My issue is I have a hard time picking the ball off of fairways to be honest (lot's of worm-burners). And yes, thinking about it... those V2 stiffs feel like poles
  2. It was recommended to me to try a V2 for my driver by someone I trusted. This person then said to shaft the woods the same. Knowing what I know now, I would have not gotten Stiff shafts given that my swing speed hovers just above 85 mph.
  3. Hello, I just had a new driver built and now I'm wondering if I have to do the same to my 3 wood and 5 wood? Before, all 3 clubs had V2 shafts with the 3&5 woods having the exact same shaft (weight, torque, etc.). I was told some time ago that you should shaft your woods exactly the same for continuity. I've also heard that you should shaft each club based on the club itself due to the fact that they are all unique. Thank you in advance for your help!
  4. This sounds interesting??? For the very first time, TaylorMade Golf will unveil a remarkable new piece of equipment to the world via webcast. 5. Got this in my inbox today. Handsome looking... remind me of TM R9's. http://www.titleist.com/teamtitleist...d-hybrids.aspx
  6. A year ago I started my search with a similar budget by clubs in the "Max Game Improvement" description. I also read a lot of message boards such as this one and anytime I saw key words like "forgiving, value, etc." I made a mental note. Lastly, I spent time at a volume golf shop (Roger Dunn Golf where I live) for trade-in sets. Ultimately, after many visits I got a set of Nike Slingshot 4D (4-AW) for $299 in great condition. Good luck!
  7. Picked this Titleist up last week and really dig it. Got the all black one. Looks sporty and is well laid out. It has a quick zip for the stand legs when you put it on a cart so they are not in the way, a handy pen pocket that is easily reachable, and a nice putter well. The quality feels nice! Super easy to carry on your back as well. http://www.titleist.com/accessories/...gs/premium.asp Almost forgot... it has a drink pocket with stainless steel drainage hole so you can keep ice in it as well.
  8. What's up from Newport...
  9. Wow! You aren't kidding. I typed in stiff flex and basically saw my question posted by others. Thanks for the heads up. I'll try to not be such a noob
  10. I am playing a TaylorMade '10 SuperFast Burner 10.5 degree loft with a regular flex shaft that came with the club and have a hard/fast swing with a tendency to slice to the right about half the time and carry the ball about 220 on average. I was told by some better golfers that a stiffer flex was needed for the way I swing both with my driver and irons. They said my "high, right, weak" shots would be corrected. Most information states using a stiffer shaft will actually accentuate a slice? That same article will suggest a stiff shaft will allow me to have a squared up club face during the ball strike (something about my hand(s) placement during strike not lagging behind like a flexier shaft?). It seems the more research I do the more I'm confused as these statements seem to cancel each other out. Is this as easy as trading up to a stiff flex or, do I need take my club to a fitter and get a different shaft altogether based on their findings? Thank you!
  11. Cobra Baffler 3R TWS ('09 I think). By far one of my best purchases in my young golf career.
  12. Tried them all (except the Diablo) and bought the Cobra Baffler TWS (regular flex) last week. Like someone else said on this board, if you can't hit this club, take up shuffleboard Seriously, I had the exact same issue you did until I started using this club. Wow! My FIRST strike the ball took off and went where I wanted it to. Since then, I have not feared my second shot on long holes. Lastly, you can not beat the price of $99.00 brand new!
