PGA Tour Fantasy site has some good information with its Power Rankings and Expert Picks; often gives details on past performance. Looks like Golf Channel does something similar, but it is not posted yet. Note too fellas that if you want in on the Golf Channel weekly prizes, you have to submit a roster for each of the contests in the Lobby; your TST league roster does not apply to TGC weekly contests. I have done both the Golf Channel Weekly and the One and Done, where the prize is a $200 equipment gift card, on top of my TST League roster.

Your rosters can now be set. Once you have set it, you will get a confirmation email from TGC Fantasy league. We have 22 in TST Fantasy 2018 so far, but still plenty of time to join!

We are up to 20 in the league....TGC will set up the week's tournament tomorrow with the dollar value per player so we can start setting rosters. Happy New Year.

To see who is in the league, you have to do some digging: Hit the blue view button on the right of the league page, then click on Leaderboard and it will show who is in. I know Yahoo had a limit of 50, no indication from TGC if there is a limit on this one.

We have hit double digits in the league...don't forget to change your User Name from the random numerical one TGC provides, to one similar to your Sand Trap user name so we can keep track of things.

Yes, trust me, I did one last search for ESPN Fantasy golf just in case there was a revival....no luck. I enjoyed their Best Ball league. I guess there are just not enough fantasy golf geeks out there to support them....though we TST seems prevalent with them! I am looking forward to trying the salary cap nature of TGC league.

@Club Rat I am assuming it is Private, but the Golf Channel does not give a lot of details. Looks like to join you either have to have the link or an email invite, but it did not ask for a Password to set the league up like Yahoo did and the PGA Tour Fantasy does. As for prizes, I do believe we would all be eligible for the weekly prizes discussed on the rules page. I'd also note that when you sign up, it looks like you are assigned a random user name that contains mostly numbers and a few letters. If you go to the Account tab, then Account Settings, you can edit your User Name.

Hello TST Fantasy Golfers, As many of you know, Yahoo has dropped fantasy golf for 2018. Some digging has been done, and a replacement has been found. The PGA Fantasy golf was looked at, but it started with the Fall segment so is 25% done, and some of us play that too, so we would not start off on an equal footing. @Undr Par found one on The Golf Channel, and it starts next week with the Tournament of Champions, so we figured it would be best. The format is different than Yahoo in that you set a roster of 6; each player is assigned a monetary value, and you have $100, 000 to spend per week on your roster. Points are given for scoring (set amount for birdies, eagles etc) along with placing for the tournament. We can do this one for 2018, get some feedback, and then decide for 2019 whether to keep with this one or hop over to the PGA Tour one (which has more similarities with Yahoo in terms of picking a lineup, but does have a complicated scoring system). See a few of my posts above...myself and Ray's Creek from the Yahoo League have been in the PGA Tour one since the start of the Fall. New segment opens up with the ToC in Hawaii. We started a league but it is just the two of us. Let me know if others are interested and I can open it up. It has pretty elaborate scoring (again see above). You won't get points for the Fall segment, but can compete in the 3 other ones still to come. I am not giving that profile up as I ended up 55th overall in the first segment.

So the PGA Fantasy golf uses a pretty elaborate scoring system; see below: Throughout a tournament, PGA Tour Fantasy Golf uses five categories: score related, driving, approach, short game and penalties (-3 points for hitting into a water hazard and -5 points for going OB). In each of the categories other than penalties there are ways to both gain and lose points. For example, a player gets 5 points for hitting a 300-yard drive in the fairway, but loses 3 points for missing the fairway on a drive that travels less than 240 yards. As he should. Get that weak stuff out of here. There is also a sixth category that awards a bonus at the end of an event based on how many FedEx Cup points your players earned that week. Hey, now you might actually care about the FedEx Cup race!

Hey @Shindig and @Warren Zevon you are right Yahoo starts in January, but the PGA Tour Fantasy starts today off their website. I started playing it mid-season last year and it is good. Any of the hard core TST fantasy golf guys should get a team in and I can start a league and we can do both. You still have a short time to lock a roster for this week's tournament. If you don't, get in this week and let me know then I will invite any of the TST fantasy golf guys who are interested to a league myself and Ray's Creek (from our Yahoo league) have just started. PGA has 4 segments, you pick a line up of 4 with 2 on the bench, and you have 3 starts per player per segment, for a total of 12 starts for the year. Don't use starts by the end of the segment, you lose them; they don't carry over. Points structure, not totally sure, but is based on how a player plays in each round; points not as straight forward as Yahoo. They also have a One and Done that is fun. We can still do Yahoo in January too.

First day of Spring....that means Segment 2 of the Yahoo Fantasy golf season is around the corner. Good time to jump in if you didn't get on board at the beginning. Week off with the Match Play this week, then next segment starts on March 30 with the Shell Huston Open, with the Masters right after that. Congrats to @Wanzo for winning the first segment.

Yes, good strategy to use for Career Builder and Torrey Pines too. I think this is the last tournament of the season that uses multiple courses....

Hang in there @Club Rat, I was in the 40th percentile after three tournaments last year. It's a marathon, not a sprint....you can turn it around....or not!
