  1. I too have a Blackberry (Storm) and from what I've seen with the free golf gps apps that I've tried, all you're going to get is basic distances. I haven't tried them all, however, since I've become quite jaded. Several of the ones I've tried I've had to actually input the courses into their database & they've all used the same thing for that process. Satellite pictures & point-n-click. Not anywhere close to being accurate enough for what's needed when out on the course. Just my input. I personally like nRange. $89 lifetime and you're done.
  2. The original question is a good one. I've used the same ball through a round of 18 several times, but each round was a different ball that I started with. Never really kept track of how many rounds I played using the same ball each round. I'll dot-mark a ball & see how many rounds I can get out of it(not counting it being lost in a hazard) before it's too beat up to continue.
  3. I couldn't agree more. Here in the Tampa/St. Pete area, little semi-private & public courses are gaining ground because they can provide rounds cheaper to the "working man golfer" than any country or private club. There's one down here that's $14(cart & green fees) for a sunset round. That place is even under-cutting some smaller, executive courses.
