Filmed from behind today, also uploaded a slow motion version.. this shot was a pull hook... but still having problems on the course with push fades. today when I played a estimated my driver PEI to rocket-high 34.5% on 16 drives... my 120-165yard PEI is like 15% last 5 rounds..

Im pretty sure it would do just the opposite, because I longer club is harder to swing, but you get more swing speed instead and the shaft gets a bit more less stiff so its easier for you do close your clubface on impact. if you're to upright I guess you should use shorter clubs rather than longer, because if you use a shorter club for example try hit the ball with the putter, you need to be more bent over than when using a 4i for example. but go see a clubfitter for more exact info.

First capture is from the push shot(first video) Second one is from the push fade(3rd video) the 90 degree line is where my right hip is at adress. I guess there's a correlation between how much my hips has slide in this position and how open my clubface will be at impact? But how is my slide in the first capture? too much? good? too less?

I've been Playing Golf for: 3-4 years My current handicap index or average score is: 18 My typical ball flight is: a bit high The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: push fade/slice and pull hooks Videos: 1st. Push (almost straight) I know I slipped with my left foot there. 2nd and 3rd video Push fades, which happens often on the course but very seldom at the driving range(usually hooks or pushes or draws on the driving range), but I thought it would be good to compare them to a shot I can live with(push) Im trying to work on my hip slide, I can notice that in my 1st video my hips are sliding more than in the others, but other than that the balance looks best in the 3rd, it seems like I have my balance on my right foot toes instead of the heel. Any other opinions to what Im doing wrong here? And if anything is good at all? Reason for not filming from behind is that I think I can control the swingplane very well, the problems are the club face timing and launch angle.

Thanks again for the tips! Im on a small vacation and didnt bring my camera I've played 2 rounds of 9 holes.. Made my first birdie! on a par 5. :) The biggest reason my handicap is still so bad is the putting and wedging, last 9 holes on my home court I shot 55 with 27 putts!¤&%%#(I will practice putts with a pro very soon) but will get a better handicap if my ball strikes gets more consistentant. anyway back to my swing, I've tried started my swing more with my shoulders but I think I should start them with a hip turn first, anyway starting the swing with my shoulders have made me using a much smoother backswing and more straight shoots. This have also gotten me to shot much more higher shoots especially with the driver, I also very seldom hit fades or pushes now with my irons. and when I hit with my hybrids the shots goes very straight(before I was push slicing them too) now I bought a new driver because I had an offset before(and I dont think its such a good idea to play with that one), but I always hit push-slice or pull-slice with my new one. I think this has to do a lot with the club is coming behind, so i will think about that too, I've been thinking about changing my grip to a more neutral or strong one with just my driver, but I dont know if that is a good idea? This thing about the knee and combination of swinging too much with my arms must be the reason for my inconsistent of ballstrikes plus maybe my changes in my spine angle. Btw I just saw that my irons(taylor made burner plus) is offset clubs aswell, but I think I will be fine until I have like 15 i hcp. Haha, I can make a mirror image on my swing so you see it from natural way if you rather want that? I will post new videos as soon as the weather becomes better.

what does leg extension mean? Today when I played I tried to get the right arm straight in the backswing plus turning my shoulder more vertical + swinging closer to my torso and it worked really well I was prepared to not even hit the ball, but I think I hit it better than I use to. I still hook a lot even like wedges but I think that has to do with closing the clubface plus I dont have my shoulders straight compare to the feets and knees. when I try to open the blade more the ball goes a bit to the left of the target, its like a small small push. I hit some shots fat or thin but I think that has to do with the head issue but im not really sure. I will try to upload a video next week to show my progress. Thanks again.

Thanks a lot! I will try to get a better face on view. My shoulder doesnt aim the same way as my feet. thats why im hooking or fading here I guess. I dont really understand arms/hands hinging of my left wrist back, but I think if I dont seperate my arms from my torso in the backswing that I will get a better downswing (closer to my torso) Yeah I see that I bending my elbow on the top I will try to fix that but I dont really know how, do you have any suggestion? just feel so stiff when I streched it like that. The head is easy to adjust I guess.

Fixed the comercial and made the video slow-motion. One clear thing especially on swing nr 2 is that im swinging a bit under plane. swing 1: swing 2:

from behind: Another shot from another angle: First time I've got it recorded. Like all beginners I've a lot of problems with my swing, I dont want to spoil them before... but I can say this I hit a lot of shots fat or thin.

I understand it in theory I just don't know if I do it in practice would be fun to watch. I was out at the grassrange one more time and only focused on coming through on the swing I think like 90% of the times I hit the ball clean I hit within 10 yrds from target(both left and right) I shot with 8i and 9i. sometimes when the ball goes too much to the right of target I think I was aiming wrong with my shoulders compared to the rest of the body.

I meant push in the last sentence. (couldnt edit) I thought a bit for a while about what you said melchior and you might be right, because when I use my Hybrids 3 and a 4 today I had like 3 slices out of 5 shots I think. I also use an offset driver which I never have a draw with, sometimes pull hook but most of the time straight or a slight fade. It could be that on the longer clubs hybrids and woods I have it harder to take the swing inside out and on the shortest one its very easy. Or?

I was out now first practicing on the driving range, I hit most of them to the right of the target(I'm a lefty) but sometimes when I got the rotation correct it was a very straight shot, so I think that's what I've to work on. It was the same on the course only played 12 hole, but when I missed the target but hit the ball it was mostly straight pushes(it was the same with even an iron4), just one big hook close to a pull hook(with iron6) But I think it has to do with what RC said. melchior yeah I thought so too but when I try to make it above plane(by standing closer to the ball) I still have both the pulls and the hooks and it feels like I dont hit it as clean as I normally do.
-
Thanks a lot RC I will try this. I feel one other options for me is to change to an outside in swing because I think it can be easier for me to control a fade, but im not quite sure. And I don't think you would recommended it to a beginner. :) Btw forgot to tell you I'm a lefty.

Lately I've been changing my swing to inside to out, before I just hitted the ball with a outside to inside swing and the ball could go anywhere but mostly huge slices or pulls or fades. nowdays I stand a bit too far I guess from the ball, but if stand closer I don't hit as clean. My long irons goes very well most of the time straight or with a slight draw(or push-draw) sometimes a slight hook or a push. But when I shoot with like an Iron 9 I hook it a bit too much like 11-16yrds away from target(it goes straight for the first 110yrds) its like I have so much easier too close the clubface with that kind of club compared to the long irons. Im trying to have the same swing with all my irons, but I feel like its tought to swing it exactly like an long Iron(beside distance to the ball and where I put it in the stance) because of the hooking issue. If i make it a softer swing or try to swing a bit less inside-out I hit the ball more straight but it goes shorter. Or if I open the face a bit, I most of the time hit a push that goes like 15yrds too short. So my questions are: is it easier to close the clubface with a short iron compared to a long? Should I change to a softer swing with the short irons? Should I swing a bit less inside out with that kind of club? I hope I can provide a video soon. And I will talk to a pro about it if it doesnt go better just wanted to hear your opionion about it first. maybe I focus on the wrong point I mean I still hit a green more often than the average 30+ hcp player. Thanks in advance.

Most probably today when I hit a Iron4 on a par 5 from fairway like 185yrds like totally straight in a perfect angle close to the trees, right in the middle on the fairway.
