  1. Coin flip to be honest. Which is what's awesome about this "rivalry." Although its not as much of a rivalry as I'd like because they are both too nice of guys. I think for a rivalry to really blossom there needs to be some animosity b/t the two. But between Jordan, Day, and Rory they all seem to be each other's biggest fans almost so as of right now its not as intense as it could be. That could change though.
  2. I would say more similar to the image on the right, but I don't have as much torso tilt. But a picture will probably be much more helpful:
  3. I've been practicing changing the picture in my yard. I've been able to accomplish most of it, even at full speed now. I definitely am keeping my hips from swaying back and getting my weight forward at impact. But it's created a different problem. My head starts moving forward on the downswing. It's steady on the backswing but by A5 to A6 my head moves forward by almost half my head's width, so say 3 inches or so and stays at that point through impact. I've tried concentrating on keeping it steady but it doesn't seem to work when i correctly shift my weight forward. Any tips on keeping the head steady while doing a correct weight transfer?
  4. Thanks, appreciate it. Loved the post on drawing the ball. After looking at both videos, while I improved somewhat with my hips and weight forward, my swing still looked very similar and my weight was definitely not forward enough. Gonna have to work real hard on breaking the habit and changing the picture as you say.
  5. So I have a few new videos. With my driver my outrageous slice is still there, but with my irons and 3 wood its not, which is confusing to me especially when you see my driver video compared to my 3 wood video from today below. I feel like I am getting my lower body more forward at impact with my driver more than my 3 wood, yet my 3 wood is going straight fairly often where my driver is a bad slice 9 out of 10 times. I also feel like I have greatly minimized the backward sway I used to have in the original post in this thread with both clubs. I think I definitely still need to get my lower body through earlier, I know its better but I have a ways to go, its just hard to break that habit. Any and all advice on how to fix this slice is greatly appreciated. Driver -Front Driver- Down the line 3 Wood Front 3 Wood - down the line
  6. Hit some practice balls in the backyard and got a few hits in at Golfsmith on the sim.
  7. Just got back from playing 9. Thought about not playing because of how bad I hit it inside that sim at golfsmith. But glad my buddy convinced me to go as the weather couldn't of been any better. Shot a 46 which I was happy with. Slice was still there on some drives but not as bad and hit a few straight. Irons felt great, mostly straight and only a couple mishits. My buddy told me I was not swaying back too many times that he noticed. I never have liked those simulators much, nothing beats playing a round. Had a fun round of golf, thanks again.
  8. I practiced a bunch in the mirror today. I had read about a starting move of slightly tilting my right knee towards my left knee before taking the club away, works great to stop me from swaying away from target and make me rotate around my spine, I was keeping head super still in mirror. Then I was at Golfsmith today and hit a bunch of balls on the machiine. Oooof, wasn't pretty. Slice was still there, but not as pronounced. But I couldnt make consistent contact at all, before i could 95% of time but now not so much. I guess this will just take more practice to get the feel. Maybe ill need to tape myself again to see what other fault this change may have brought along.
  9. Wow. I knew I was doing something drastically wrong, and I appreciate you painting the picture for me. Really gives me something to work on. I'm kind of amazed I was even able to make consistent contact with the ball this year after looking at those pictures. I'll give it a shot and let you know how to it goes.
  10. From what you and others have said sounds like your golf game is good enough to at the very least give it a college try and more than likely succeed at it. So the real question is if its what you truly want. I'm no where near your level in terms of golf, but as a fellow Hoosier who has been around the block about 15 more years than you have I doubt there is a single good reason that you shouldn't take the plunge. You have good grades, those don't go away, so unless a dream offer for your dream career comes your way before you do the mini tour thing than you should definitely take the opportunity. And my money is on your true dream career being that of a pro golfer, I know I'd much rather play golf for a living than some gig in business etc. You'll never know if you had the chops to do it if you don't try, and now is the time to try before you get locked into a career. Like others have said the experience will be worthwhile in and of itself. Your GPA and degree will always be there, no employer will penalize you for taking a year, or even 3 to attempt a pro golf career, on the contrary it will likely open tons of doors for you that would have been closed for you otherwise, great jobs are found through connections, not Monster.com. I don't really see any risk in this at all. If its truly what you want in your gut, go for it!
  11. I've been Playing Golf for: 15-20 years (only a handful of times a season, till this year) My current handicap index or average score is: 25 My typical ball flight is: Slice. Starts straight at first then a wicked slice. The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Slice I really appreciate any and all help. I've decided I wanna stop hacking and actually get good at this game (or decent anyway). Today was a particularly awful day at the range whereas 9 our of 10 shots were awful slices. When I went last week by the end of my session I was hitting 8 out of 10 irons pretty much straight, and about half my drives were straight. Today I was just awful across the board. Videos: All videos starts out full speed then I added a 33% speed at the end. Driver - Down the line Driver - Front 5 Iron - Down the line 5 Iron - Front
  12. Sounds great. I need to work on eliminating an outside in path as well, appreciate it
  13. you have any more info about this drill?
  14. Awesome. Thanks for the welcome guys. Appreciate it. Will start digging in.
  15. Just joined up looks like a great community. Been hacking away for 20 years or so since i was in my teens, but usually only 5-10 times at the most a season and I never worked much on getting better. About a month or so ago I decided I've sucked for too long and have been playing or hitting the range at least 3 times a week. I Started filming my swing and comparing it to pros and watching vids on the meandmygolf channel and its helped some, yet I still have a ways to go. Looking forward to chatting with everyone.
