  1. That's not a bad idea. I used to play a 10.5 degree club. Another thing I considered was getting a steel shafted driver. That's the only club I have trouble hitting straight and it's the only graphite shaft I hit (yes I hit steel shafted fairway woods). Could that be a possible solution.
  2. Well one thing I did concentrate on yesterday when I went to the range again was standing over the ball a little more. I think I was too far away from the ball at address with just my driver in hand. I had a buddy mention something to me that with my driver I was not leaning over the ball enough at address. It took the straight slice out of play for me when I did that, I guess I was not able to "get around the ball" persay and it was causing me to hit those bad slices. Has anyone experienced or seen that fault before? I wouldn't exactly compare my friend with Butch Harmon, and to boot I'm a better ball striker than him, I was just looking for input from anyone.
  3. I finally was able to hit the range today. I concentrated on the driver which I normally don't do. I focused on keeping my right arm in close to my torso and actually hit some draws. With that setup I either draw it or slice it. I think that depends on whether or not my hips are getting through fast enough on the descend. Luckily, I just found out my buddy's brother-in-law is a instructor at a golf course about 20 mins down the road, so I think he's going to give me a some video analysis for free. If he's able to, I'll get him to email me that video and I'll post it on here when I can. Again, appreciate the help. It was a pretty good day on the range (especially with the irons) and it really got me pumped up.
  4. I'm here with you brother. Same for me exactly. Although I do play tennis lefthanded too because my mom taught me and she is lefty. Everything my dad taught me I do righthanded.
  5. At the target. So i guess that wouldn't even be considered with a fade.
  6. They should have golfers and courses available for purchase online just like in Guitar Hero or something (they are with songs). They could make some money off that.
  7. The reason i'm trying to draw the ball is more because my fades have turned into slices lately. But, if I could consistently hit a fade, I'd be all for it. It's just been frustrating lately off the tee.
  8. I'm playing a 9.5 degree. I would say my swing speed is at or just over 100 mph. I'm thinking about trying that push draw next time i can get to the range (if it ever quits raining in GA). Ross, it is entirely possible i'm giving it a little too much with the driver. I'm probably overswinging, but I have used the headcover drill (same as your towel). I just couldn't get the ball to draw consistently and I dropped the drill. Maybe I should stick with it and hope it works itself into my muscle memory? Thanks to all for what you have got so far, I'll be a busy man next time I hit the range.
  9. I know you guys normally like a video and i can work on getting one on here. But, I'm just at a loss and am trying to get some fresh ideas.
  10. Atlanta Athletic Club is tops for me. I also loved the Golf Club at North Hampton in North FL.
  11. So, I have a nasty problem with the big stick. For years I have played a high cut or when I mess up, a slice with the driver. As much as I mess around at the range with it, I cannot hit a consistent draw with the driver. I try and alter my follow through (i.e. coming around more on my follow through as a swing thought), close my stance, close the face at address, but they either result in a duck hook, or sometimes a still a slice. The things that I can do with my swing with any other club to draw the ball somehow do not apply with the driver in my hand. I'm wondering if anyone who plays a draw off the tee can give me some tips of drills or adjustments I can try to rid me of this problem (I've tried quite a few, but I'm ready to do just about anything). I have no problem shaping shots with my irons, just the driver.
  12. Hey guys, new to the forum. Probably my worst club is my 3 iron. I don't know whether its the fact that I don't have enough swing speed for that club or whether it's all in my head, but my trajectory is significantly shallower on that club from my 4 iron. Maybe I should look into getting a hybrid, but I'm young and I used to be able to bomb my ol' Ben Hogan Apex Edge 3 iron (I hit 704 CB Titleist now). Don't know what the problem is, but gotta fix something.
