  1. I got a Burner TP with the 75g Fujikura Rombax shaft (stiff) this year. Excellent club (and shaft)!!! I would go with the stiff shaft since you said you've been improving a lot. I would think you could get it re-shafted with something that fits you better.
  2. I was hitting a lot of fat shots earlier this year. Try the drill where you put a golf tee 6 inches in front of your ball; you then try to hit the forward tee. One of the big golf magazines just had an article about the drill. I am down to maybe one fat shot per round compared to about 10. looking at your video, what really struck me was how much your head moves on your backswing; look at faxons swing on that site http://www.swingacademy.com/SwingAna...ol.aspx?id=122 compare his head movement to yours. Looks like $2 nassau is saying essentially the same thing in a different way- you want more of a turn around your head rather than a sway type move.
  3. Funny you should ask about shooting my age for nine- I finally started putting my game together in August after doing a lot of hacking in June and July. My "home" course is a challenging mountain course that has kicked my butt all year. I had one of those days where you actually feel like a good golfer and I held it together the whole round (Thank you, Fearless Golf!!). I shot 38 and 42 for my best ever score (par 70 course). I thought it was pretty cool that I beat my age for nine. Hadn't done that before. I've got some work to do though to shoot my age in 30 years or so.
  4. Are you in high school? What year are you? I would encourage you to focus on improving your game; Use these other things as fuel to get better. You might talk with the coach and ask what can I do to get a playing spot. It sounds really frustrating, but don't even think about quitting. If the coaches continually sabotage the team, you might eventually need to go over their heads to the athletic director. I wouldn't advise that until you have done everything you can to work with the coaches to improve the situation.
  5. i like this web site/store: http://lostgolfballs.com/
  6. Great web site/forum!! I've been golfing for about 30 years now on and off. This year I'm actually playing 3-4 times a month--I turned 40 this year, I figure I'm not getting any younger, time to be a golfer instead of golfing twice a year on vacation. I've been having a lot of fun getting up to date with equipment (hybrids- woot!!).
  7. most of mine have been chip ins on par 5s. The first one I really remember was at Kaanapali, Maui. My dad and I were playing against my grandpa and uncle and they were giving us a bunch of strokes. I hit two good woods and was next to the green. I chipped it in and my grandpa was so pissed since my uncle had a birdie putt! I finally made an eagle putt last month-- hit a great drive but it was just in the rough. Hit my hybrid on the green and luckily sunk the 20 footer. still waiting for one from the fairway
  8. where I'm at the courses often are uncrowded, so I probably play alone every other round since my golf buddies work more than me. I usually play 2 balls and just treat them as practice outings. I can usually play in about 3 hours which is another plus.
  9. I just got a burner tp with the fuji rombax shaft (75g). I chose it because I didn't want the light (50g) stock shaft. From the reviews I read online its supposed to be a high quality shaft. So far its been a great driver!
