  1. I just picked up a 60* Vokey SM this weekend, and I can't wait to play around with it. It's one sexy club. But I've heard of the face showing wear after a relatively short amount of time. Has anyone else experienced this? Also, will Titleist refurbish?
  2. My irons are great right now, the problem is full wedges, because I don't feel comfortable with them being shorter than the rest of my irons. Were your wedges lengthened with plugs? And if so, how much did it cost? Thanks.
  3. Yeah, I've been fitted once by my teacher and once by the clubfitter when I bought them. Both times, I needed a half inch and 2 degrees upright. Are your wedges lengthened as well?
  4. Since I bought my I3 irons, which are an inch long (I grip down about a half inch) I don't feel comfortable hitting wedges any longer than a pitch. I thin them like heck, and it hurts my hands while also killing my distance control with them. I practice my wedges a lot, but now it's uncomfortable and frustrating to do so. I'm going to switch to using a 48* Pitching 54* Sand and 60* Lob wedge compliment, all Callaway Forged. I know a friend of mine had plugs put in his irons to lengthen them, would this be wise to do to my wedges so I can feel more comfortable with them? How much would it cost, roughly? Thanks.
  5. If I was going to use a mallet, that's what I'd use. Plus, it would make me feel like Sergio.
  6. You need PING in there yo. So far in my driver search I like the G2 best and I want to try the G5 line as well. Haven't tried their fairway woods, but will. They are by far my favorite iron manufacturer for both the quality and customizability. I wouldn't use their wedges if I had the choice, but they are still very nice and do the job well. Any Anser type putter would do the job for me.
  7. I like that idea, thanks. If I can, I will video tape it. About the short game question, in general in the short game, whenever I can, I try to do things with very quiet hands to make it simpler. Is it possible then that the clubface is closing going through the grass? Also, on this type of shot, what would you imagine being the first move in the stroke? (For example, my first move in my full swing is to begin turning my shoulders to bring the club to toe up)

    Metal Cleats

We just in general need to completely phase out metal spikes. I don't care who complains, it's better for the courses and the game. How many times do leaders playing later day rounds on the weekend deal with putts breaking randomly because of spike marks?
  9. Full swing help: The thing I have been working on recently has been to consciously try to swing under my backswing. I have added yards and become straighter overall, but my miss has become a slice rather than a hook and I struggle with turning it over. I've always had the most success swinging inside to out and don't want to abandon that. Any ideas on how I can force myself to come from the inside? Short game help: Pitching and chipping from thick rough without taking a big flop swing. I've heard Paul Azinger describe how pros do it as not using the leading edge but rather coming in with the club more flat to the ground to pass through the grass, which I understand, but when I do it I tend to hit little scooters to the right. Any ideas?
  10. As in sig, I use a good ol Rescue Mid that I like a lot, but after I buy a driver I probably will look at a 2 iron hybrid that would rotate in and out as a replacement for a wedge. I want to try the new PING hybrid, but at the moment the Rescue Mid and Sonartec MD are my favorites that I have hit. I also need to give the Heavenwoods a longer try. The hybrid irons have all been a bit out of my league.
  11. I currently use a Yes golf Tracy, and the Winn AVS grip on it is okay, but I was trying a Cameron this weekend with a really skinny grip and felt more comfortable with it. Is it possible for me to have the Tracy regripped with a grip similar to a Cameron? Thanks.
