  1. With regards to the Srixon Q-Star golf balls, I found some nice package deals online that include 2 doz balls, a Srixon Hat and a towel for $37.95: http://www.golfballs.com/Golf-Balls/Srixon-Q-Star-Bundle-Pack.htm# http://www.golfballs.com/Golf-Balls/Srixon-Fan-Pack_2.htm Or a package deal for the Z-Stars for $49.95: http://www.golfballs.com/Golf-Balls/Srixon-Z-Star-Fan-Pack.htm?t=mailer_09470A21 Choose from white or yellow balls with any bundle. For a pricing comparison, I just bought a box of the Q-Stars from Dick’s Sporting Goods “on sale” for $19.99. They are must less here, plus you get the free hat and towel. I ordered one of each package.
  2. Thanks, yeah it happens once in a while, not as often as I would like though! I really like the Tour Edge irons. I have the Tour Edge Bazooka JMAX QL (Quick Launch) and they really get the ball up with some nice spin and are forgiving.
  3. It was a Top Flite XL 2000, which I think they just recently discontinued. On a side note, I heard that Top Flite was bought out by Dick's Sporting Goods but don't quote me on that.
  4. I heard that the Srixon Q-Star might be my best choice to prevent ball shredding because of it's soft, ionomer (or is it urethane) cover material. Plus, I am a high handicapper with a medium swing speed (low 90s). Sounds like a good fit, I guess. The local sporting goods store pro said I need a softer ball, but I am having trouble grasping that concept. I would think a ball with a harder cover would not shred because the harder material will hold up better and not fall apart as easily. Or is it because the softer material bounces off the club better. I don't know. Anyway, please see the attached photo and feel free to provide some feedback on which ball I may need to use. Maybe I already answered my own question and I should just try the Q-Stars. Thanks everyone.
  5. I still need to buy a Tour Edge putter though. I am lefty but I putt righty. Usually it takes about 9 holes for new players to notice that something looks different when I putt. Its kind of funny.
  6. I read that, although Tour Edge does not pay players to use their equipment, there are many pro players on tour that have specific Tour Edge clubs in their bad.
  7. I used to perform two bodypart-per-day workouts. Chest and bi's Monday, Legs Tuesday, Back and Tris Wed, etc. Now that I run and play golf, married with kids, time is limited so I do workouts that include all bodyparts in one workout. I try to get to the gym 2x per week but I'm lucky to get there once. Here is one of the workouts I follow that I personally like very much. I guess it is a 36-week program because you can complete the Beginners program for 12 weeks, intermediate for another 12, then expert for 12 weeks: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/maki7.htm
  8. I own the Tour Edge Bazooka JMAX QL Irons 5-P, Tour Edge JMAX QL Iron/Wood Hybrids 4 and 5 and the Tour Edge Bazooka JMAX Driver. These are my favorite clubs that I ever played by far. All irons are steel shafts 0.5 inches longer, the driver is stiff graphite. I didn't know they came with a lifetime warranty until I read these posts. I am pleased with the grips and how the ball gets up in the air better then other irons I have hit. This is because these are QL (Quick Launch). I guess the club face is a rougher surface. It sure can tear up cheap golf balls.
  9. Not too new here but now that I am golfing more often and participating here more in the forum, I should at least say hello. Lots of good public courses in PA to play. Looking forward to learning from the Sand Trap community and improving my game. Thanks. TJ
  10. Looks like him alright. His name should be on the bag usually at the top around the rim right on the front. Question while I'm here... How can I add the "What's in my bag" section to my signature?
  11. That's my goal too. Keep track of stats, see where I need to improve to lose those few extra strokes. I know I probably won't be able to use it when I'm with a group because I don't want to slow the game down but I have been using the free version while practicing (and no one is behind me). Like Motown88 said, all I really need is the distance to the center of the green so the extra feature of knowing the distance to the front or back is just extra. I honestly cannot hit that accurate anyway. I'm happy to be on the green in regulation any day. Can we add a section in the app that keeps track of beers consumed during play? Or beers consumed before and after play, for that matter. QUESTION: Did you guys figure out how to access your data on the GolfLogix website? I don't remember using an email address to create my account for the app and that is what I need to login. I emailed them the question but they haven't gotten back to me yet.
  12. I have been a free member of GolfLogix all summer and just upgraded to a Champions membership for $20/year. I want to start keeping track of my stats like club yardages, greens in regulation, number of putts, etc. I didn't even have a chance to get out to the course to try the app now that I upgraded and I noticed that the ads still pop up at the bottom. They said no ads if you upgrade but ads still come up saying "Farmers Insurance" when viewing my rounds and I have to keep hitting close to get rid of it. Then, I noticed that the upgrade fee doesn't include the new "Golf Digest Live" portion of the app. That appears to be another $20/year. I am going out golfing this Thursday to try out the upgraded app. Hopefully I like it too much to not worry about the annoying ads. Anyone else here use the GolfLogix app on there iPhone and would like to share there experiences?
  13. Did you try the full version yet? I am wondering because I just upgraded to the Champions membership for $20 and I am still getting ads for Farmers Insurance. I have to keep hitting the close button to get rid of it. Also, I guess the new Golf Digest part of it is separate and that costs $20 a year on its own. Still unsure why that is on its own but in the same app. You also mentioned that it keeps crashing. Today (08-27-12) they just came out with an update to the app so hopefully that will be fixed.
