  1. So to not go into a whole story has anyone ever used the putter tape before? I am having a hard time with the putter lately and it is killing me. I am hitting the ball better than I have in years and I spend the round missing birdie putts I should make. I have spent a ton of time on the practice green and now I am not sure if it is my ability to read greens that is killing me or if it is an alignment issue or my stroke. The misses are not consistent. I was thinking about using the tape to determine if I hitting putts in the center or mis-hitting them. thoughts?
  2. Who do you think will win the Wyndham Championship this week? I narrowed it down to Sergio Garcia, Jordan Spieth, Zach Johnson, Bill Haas and Brandt Snedeker. After a lot of internal debate I rolled with Snedeker and here is a summary of what I liked: Brandt is having a very solid year. In fact he made the cut in 13 of 17 events in 2013. Of those 13 he has 11 top-25s, eight top-10s, a third and two second place finishes. Oh and then of course are his two wins at the AT&T; Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the RBC Canadian Open. In his career at the Wyndham Championship he racked up a tie for 28th in 2012, tie for eighth in 2010, tie for fifth in 2009 and won the event in 2007. He did not play well last week at the PGA Championship but that has not stopped him from playing well at Sedgefield Country Club. He likes this course and it appears being past the final major eases his mind. In 2013 Brandt is 10th in strokes gained putting, fourth in birdie average, ninth in scoring average, second in the all-around and third in par breakers. He has the game to conquer the Wyndham Championship and has proven it already. The undulating greens at Sedgefield Country Club will challenge many of the professionals this week but Snedeker’s incredible putting stroke will be the key to mastering these greens once again. I expect Snedeker to have a solid final regular season event culminating in a victory with a full court press into the Fed Ex Cup playoffs in defense of his title. What does everyone else think? It was hard to rule a few guys out but at the end of the day we have to make a call right?
  3. I have to go with Snedeker this week. I broke it down and it was between Dustin, Phil, Brandt, and Camilo. http://sportsunbiased.com/golf/pga/2655/pga-preview-2013-att-pebble-beach-national-pro-am-snedeker-wins/
  4. My personal opinion. (Like everyone else..LOL) Buy a used original R11. It is a great driver. It is workable and long. All my hybrids, and irons (minus SW and LW) are Adams Pro A12's so I am an Adams guy to but that R11 is great. I am in the minority but I tried the RBZ and I just didn't like it. To light for my taste.
  5. Aaron, I had Hogan Apex irons (2-PW) for over 13 years. I absolutely loved them!!! If it wasn't for the clubs getting "lost" in a cross country move I would still play them. Now I am an Adam Pro A12 guy.
  6. Last trip to the store I brought home a Vokey SM4 60 degree wedge. I had previously prochased a new SW (First time in 10 years) and it had 2 degree less loft then my old one. I missed the extra so I go the 60.
  7. Full time job is an RF Engineer for the government. But in the off time I am a sports writer (I do it for the love of it really) over at Sportsunbiased.com and I am working on a couple fo E-Books.
  8. I finally got out today after a bit of time off (I hate when life gets in the way, LOL). Played the local course at Langley AFB (Par 72) and shot 40 on the front and 37 on the back. It took a few holes to get back in the swing of things. I pulled a couple of drives off the bat and thne chunked an 8 iron from 157 into a bunker on the second hole. After that things calmed down a bit and by the end of the round things were coming back. I wsh I could have stayed and played another 18.
  9. I really like Zach Johnson as a winner this week. I think he is proven on the track and his game suits the course. Keegan Bradley can play well here as well. Obviously a lot will like Dustin off of last week but I do not like him to go back-to-back. I broke it down here http://sportsunbiased.com/2013/01/pga-tour-2013-sony-open-winner-is-zach-johnson/ if anyone wants to go check it out and let me know what you think.
