I've been Playing Golf for:
15 years total
My current handicap index or average score is: 20
My typical ball flight is: straight / slight fade
The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: hitting a flat shot w/ my iron's & pull / pull-hook w/ driver
Hey Guys, the sand trap is an awesome forum and I'm pretty much browsing the topics everyday. I have been playing golf off / on since I was a kid, but I am starting to dedicate a lot of time to my game to improve my handicap. With my current work schedule (14 days on/off), I am seriously at the range everyday working on my swing. I am very confident with my irons and feel like my best shot are my approaches. Once I can get rid of my 3-puts and start hitting the fairways with my drives, I believe I can get my handicap closer to a 10.
Right now, I cannot hit my driver to save my life; every shot is a pull or a pull hook. When I do hit a straight ball, I am only getting a total distance of 220-240 yards. This is especially frustrating because I see these highschool kids half my size driving the ball 300+ yards. I feel like I'm getting good weight transfer throughout my swing, but think I'm lacking consistency with my extension and follow through. After looking at my own swing on video, it seems like I am swinging the club very slowly so maybe I'm not generating enough club head speed on my drives?
Anyways, attached are my swings with the help of my wife so if anybody can give me any advice on my swing, I would greatly appreciate it!
thanks and take care!
