  1. If your primary miss is thin, and now you say your secondary miss is a high hook, this can be very easily diaganosed as a slight ball position problem. Your obviously positioning the ball just a bit too far forward in your stance. Which will cause you to strike it thin in most cases and when you do happen to stay down through the ball at contact your impact is so far forward that you have already begun to release your clubhead and you're beginning your upswing causing the high ballooned hook... keep an eye on your ball position and you should be able to clear this right up good luck
  2. Absolutly 1986 was the best masters ever....it would be nearly impossible to top that
  3. As it stands right now Jack is the best. 18 majors and a ton of second place finishes is a powerful point but lets talk about the competition he had compaired to Tigers...I recently read an article where they compared Jack and Tigers opponents final round scoring averages. Jack's adversaries showed well with strong final rounds averaging between 68-69. Tigers opponents however; failed to even break par on average at just over 72. I know this is a debate that will go on until Tigers carreer has ended, but Jack won all of his tournaments no one layed down and let him take them. Im not saying that Tiger doesnt win and deserve tournaments, because in a lot of cases he does, he goes out and completely over powers the entire field...Im just saying that all those "incredible" comeback charges he makes on the weekends might not have stood up if other players hadn't failed to shoot sub-par rounds. I think the next few years will bode well for this debate. I do beleive Tiger will break Jacks record, but I also believe that some of the young talents on tour right now are only going to get better and more competitive, which inturn will push Tiger to an even higher level than anyone thought possible.
  4. Just wondering what everyone thought of the article in Golf Digest last month in which Jack Nicklaus talked about his intentions to design 12 hole golf courses to accommidate people who don't have the time to play 4 1/2 hour 18 hole rounds...
  5. Don't get too caught up on the whole forward press stuff...9 times out of 10 chances are it's just a slight problem with your ball position. Take an extra second during your pre-shot routine to check on your ball position and concentrate on striking down through the ball.

    Staff Bag

I also agree. I have the 10.5 inch r7 staff bag and my brother has the 9.5 ft-3 fusion bag and his is much easier to hook up than mine. I find myself always worrying about it falling off. I have found the club car precidence have a little longer strap, but for the most part you'll only find those at private country clubs or resorts.
  7. Contenders... Tiger - Hank Haney gave an interview to the golf channel the other day in which he said that Tiger is more in command of his swing now than he has ever been. He is clearly ready for this event and if he can keep his driver in the shortgrass I dont think anyone will stop him. Charles Howell III - I think all his hard work during the off season on his short game is really going to pay off this week. Being an Augusta native and seeing what this tournament means to him, it's hard to leave him out of a list of contenders...hopefully the pressure and drive he puts himself through this week isn't too much for him to handle. Adam Scott - Coming off a big win last week in Houston, I would love to see Scott play well in Augusta. I was going to list him as a sleeper, but if he can bring that accurate driver and the hot flat stick he had in Houston to Augusta I think he may have a real shot! Sleepers Chris DiMarco - DiMarco has gotten off to a pretty slow start in 2007, but given his history at Augusta it's kinda hard not to mention his name. Another reason for including him is the putting performance he diplayed at the Tavistock Cup last week, where he seemed to make everything he looked at. I think his solid putting could get him in contention come Sunday. Vijay Singh - It's hard to list Vijay as a sleeper, but it just seems to fit the way he has been playing this year...He is solid and steady shooting consisitant under par rounds. He seems to almost sneak quietly up leaderboards without anyone really taking notice until he is right there in contention. Paul Casey - Paul Casey has proven himself as a very good very competitive player and I think being paired with Tiger in the first round this year will be great for his style of play. I love his compact and powerful swing, and coming off a T-6 last year at Augusta I think he could have what it takes. Sergio Garcia - Despite the little spitting incident at Doral, I will continue to pull for Sergio. I saw some very good things happening on the greens with his putting stroke at Doral, I think if he can keep making fluid confident strokes and releasing his putterhead that along with his solid ball striking and imagination around the golf course could earn him his first major this year.
