What would you choose? if you could magically gain a golf super power where you could hit every shot say 10 to 20 yrds longer but be inaccurate with your shots (some go where you want some dont some hook or slice); or you'd have to sacrafice 10 to 20 yrds off of evry shot but hit the ball where you are aiming. What would you do? Personnaly I'd like both but I think I'd take the accuracy. sacraficing a couple yards off the tee or an approach shot might just mean a longer club and if I can hit where I want to less chance of any hazards

If everyone is so concerned about club speed and the weight of their club down to a couple of grams, of which there are 28 in an ounce and 448 in a pound, and why do golfers, and I am mostly refering to pro on tv, wear watches. I know a wrist watch will not change the swing weight of a club but it will add to the overall amount of weight a golfer will have to move in order to swing the club. It just seems that wearing a watch will only slow down your swing.

replacing 3wood with short high loft driver
bigbear43 replied to bigbear43's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
ya wasn't thinking about the driver off the fairawy, should of mentioned this when I posted. I usually do not hit the three off the deck I mostly use my 18 hybrid so this whould not be an issue just looking more for the tee box -
quick question for everyone, just wondering your thoughts and so forth. I have changed my driver stance setup, grip, and swing and seem to be able to hit the ball straight and pretty far 240-260 depending on the quality of the strike. also I am hitting pretty close to the center of the club, might be off 1/2 inch to an inch but relativly on center. My three wood I can make good contact with , hit it about 225 on a good hit but I am not that consistant and accurate with it also I tend to put a big fade, borderline slice, or push it. My questions and thought would be getting a high lofeted driver 12.5-14ish cutting it down to 40/42 inches or so and replacing my 3-wood with it. I'm just worried about being too long with it, however I think the bigger head would be easier to hit and more forgiving. after my 3wood I have an 18 degree hybrid that I can hit 210-220 when I hit it good. so I'm looking to fill the gap

I have played last years Srixion Zstar and Zstar x balls and love them just wondering if anyone has played this years version of the Zstar xv which I guess is a four layer ball as opposed to the three layer balls last year

Anything wrong with this bag set-up?
bigbear43 replied to jstaffa's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
in my opinion you 5 wood and 3 hybrid are one degree difference in loft, your 5h and 6i has 3.5 degree difference. in my opinion you should ditch your 5 wood and keep your 5 iron. heres why; in my opinion because I do not know how you hit you woods and hybrids: but I would rather see a smaller distance gap between your iron and hybids. you will probably hit your hybrids longer than your iron. even though your 5h is only a degree off of your 5iron you will probably hit it a club longer, or basically you'll hit it like a 4iron. In terms of the woods and hybids I think the 3h would be more versital than the 5wood. I've used my 4h(23 degree) anywhere from the tee to pitch and chip shots. Not to mention the distance would probably be similar. Once again its my opinion the only way to really know is to go out and play and dependant on the course your set up might and will cahnge. good luck -
stumbled accross an older taylor made driver today at GolfGalaxy. It was 5.99 so I couldnt resist (it would be great to keep in the car for those spontanious range visits) anyways its a Taylormade driver (says taylormade and titanium and the loft 9.5 on the bottom) and it has a bubble shaft in s-90 flex. trying to do some research on the club. anyone have one or should I say has had one? also whats the deal with the "bubble" in the shaft. I was thinking of shortening the shaft but didnt know if this would affect the purpose of the bubble.

whats the lofts of your hybrids? how about the loft of the first iron in your bag? -
I have the black and red widow maker on my driver and like it. I also have the Black widow fusion grips on my wedges and they are awesome great feel excellent traction definitly worth looking into

My hands are not long but they are wider and thicker than an average hand i have two extra wraps on my irons, which still seem a tad small. on my wedges I have two wraps with a third wrap under my bottom (right) hand. my driver has two wraps and my 3 wood and two hybids are factory grips, which when its time extra tape will be added. of all of them my wedges feel the bst grip wise. I am actually interested in trying those jumbo max grips and or a reversed taper grip just out of curiosity.

Any body try these yet? just curious as to how they play and if you like them

Wedge Shaft Flex vs Stiff Flex, Spinners, Etc.
bigbear43 replied to Divot Tool's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Divot tool try adding some weight by the head of the club, lead tape etc for now. see how they feel maybe the heads are too light for a stiff flexed shaft if they feel better with more weight bring them to a club fitter. In terms of wedge flex I think that it's just a marketing ploy -
anyone try these? supposedly they are self straightening. just curious as to how they work. And yes I know they are not confirming etc etc. just curious as to if they actually work.

Personnaly I voted no. while belly putters might not be conventional, or swung I see no advantage to them. I have tried belly putters out and find them hard to get a good stroke out of them and I also find them hard to aim. That's just from my experience with them. In my opinion if there was that much of an advantage more tour pros would use them.

I tried after you responded to the first post and it did not work but it has been a couple of days I will try again Thank you

Driver: low ball flight....need low kickpoint shaft?

Thats another one of my pet peeves cigarette butts or cigar butts. On the course we are outside in nature, not that I am a nature nut but being on the course is not only a sporting experience but a chance to get outside usually on a meticulously kept course. I want to enjoy being outside I dont feel like looking a cigarette butts or trash. If you want to smoke on the course or drink or eat fine just keep your trash to yourself be responsable and throw it away.

So i reach the green the other day in two on a par 4 and I have a pretty line, but in my line is a moveable obstruction, a spit out sunflower seed. This got me thinking about etiquette and the like, and I've come to the conclusiom that I see no problem about "seeds" on the course, but I do have a problem when one spits them out on the green. What are all your thoughts?

Thank you

I'm getting bored and need a good project to keep me busy. I was thinking of getting some heads and shafts from golf works. I'm going to use True Temper shafts because they are cheap to buy but are great shafts. I was thinking either the dynamic gold or the TT series. any thoughts or opinions? and different suggestions? Thanks
