I don't post much but i will give my experences so far as i had a similar issue to the op. I am 6'2" 210 lbs. If i rip on a swing i can reach 118/119 mph swing speed but with controll, after fitting and some guidance 115 mph is ideal. After many different fittings it was determined for me that the Aldila Beta Rip 70g 2.8 Xstiff 45" with the R11 8degree head was suited for me. I tried off the shelf drivers and they were horrible. I have had this driver setup for a year now it works great. I am a 6 handicap. I hit 290 in the air and rollout gives me 305/310 somtimes ferther depending. But i hit the fairway 90 percent of the time. My set up is not in your price range but i was glad i spent the money for myself. Confidence in hitting off the tee "priceless" Spend some money and get the correct setup for you!

I am right at a scratch golfer. I am consistant,have no head issues,but what i do is in tournaments i over hit. I am long to begin with but when adrenalin starts pumping i get even longer. Yesterday we had a 18 hole winner take all match out our local club. after 13 i was in the top 5. 14th hole is a par3 196 yard and pin was in the back. So 210yrds or so right? I am only 2 off the lead and thinking birdie! I pull the 6 iron and smoked it over the green by 10 or so yards, i did not blade it just extra power. I felt it on the down swing but just can't help it. So i guess that is my only complaint with this great game. I don't hook or fade, put well, good short game, just hit to far at times.

Yes, I have... about 13 to 15 for me.... Pretty close to that on the short and mid irons... The 3 and 4 i have about 20 yard gap.. Not sure why? I think it may be me being inconsistant with the 3 iron.. It is long and i am still learning a feel for it.. The 3 iron on the first day of use i was ripping it about 220.. I am up to 230 with the 3 now and with the 4 i am just at 200 yrds now.. So i am still feeling them out but for me, what i am liking best is i do not have to rip them for those distances.. They have helped me be more consistant across the game..

I too have played with some fellow golfers that were swinging the 2.0s.. They too really are loving them.... Although, I did have the grips replaced(as i do on all my clubs as i have rather large hands and need over sized grips) the felt fine just to small diameter wise.. I use the lamkin over sized grips..

Never really gave much thought to the chromed or matt finish... Schucks, guess i can't blame the sun for binding me for the bad shot eh? LOL!!!

Yes, I was aware of that before i made the purchase.. They are built for big hitters. I was just sharing my pleasure with the new irons is all.. Just trying to make chit-chat as i am a new member and love the game and trying to get to know some of you.. Not sure it is woking out though..

I came from the burner superlaunch to the 2.0s... Go try them out.. I never hit the standard burner(1.0)... Thanks, I am so enjoying them.. But I play all taylormade(except putter) clubs, have for years..

I have had the new 2.0 for 3 weeks now. They are fantastic for me.. I am hitting each club on average 20 yards more.. I can't believe how well they work for me,almost like they were made for me.. I am hitting the 3 iron 220 yards. AMAZING!!! Love them..
