  2. So as the title says I'm looking to swap out my 2 iron for a hybrid and was looking for some suggestions as I have never purchased/played one before. Do hybrids even come in an equivilant 2 iron or would I be looking at more of a 5 wood?
  3. I own the Burner SF 2.0 and I love the white crown, say what you want but it works for me and gives me a lot of confidence at address. I actually tried out the Plaid driver for kicks a couple weeks ago and I wasn't seeing any increase in my ball speed testing it versus the Burner and a couple other popular drivers. I will say I found the white shaft in the club to be rather attractive. The club a clunky feel to it when striking the ball and I never was able to get much consistency with it.
  4. I recently purchased the Burner 2.0 after trying most of the usual suspects, however I did not try any Ping's (I usually just do not like the look of their woods). It came down to me being a very accurate driver of the ball and wanting something longer and lighter. This thing just inspires confidence in my hands. It's so light and the white club head and black face looks terrific in my opinion but that may not be everyone's cup of tea. I'm not crazy about the sound but it's not an odd sound or anything, it's a fairly standard titanium noise I think. Before this I was playing a Taylor Made 510 which is a much smaller head and much less forgiving than the 2.0. I've only taken this to the range a couple times since but I've noticed that this club really allows you to generate a noticeable increase in your swing speed with your normal swing. Also maybe I'm just hitting the ball really well right now but I was hitting this thing straight with a tiny draw 90% of the time, my usual ball flight is usually straight but almost always 5-10 yards right of my intended target (slight block perhaps). I love the driver so far. If you like the White crown and want something really lightweight for that extra swing speed I'd go with this stick.
  5. Thanks for the responses guys. They are actually only 1/4" inch longer so almost irrelevant. As for who was asking for me to post my swing. Do you mean you'd like to see a video of it? I'll try and get something in the next couple days if I have a chance after work.
  6. I bought a stencil for drawing straight lines with various length and widths but it also has shape stencils so I just put a Red Maple Leaf above the Brand Name with a broken up line along the alignment markings.
  7. Hey guys, I was hoping I could get a few ideas from people about a few possible issues with my irons. I play a 2-9 cleveland ta2 set w/ DGS-300 that are adjusted to 2 degrees upright and 1/2" longer than stock (6'0" tall). So here are my questions... Because my irons are all 1/2" longer than stock, does that reduce the flex rating for the shaft? I feel like I hit my iron shots, especially my longer ones higher and shorter than I feel I should be hitting them. My swing speed with a Driver is around 95 mph. I'm considering putting new shafts in the clubs or just buying new irons all together next year and I was wondering if going with the x100 might be a good idea? Or perhaps switching to Project X's but not sure of what flex? Or a cheaper alternative would be to shorten my irons (increasing the flex rating???) and possibly adjusting all lie's to 3-4 degrees up. And finally if anyone has any recommendations on what I should perhaps upgrade too? Something of similar style (player's cavity, forged, minimal offset, solid feel) Thanks in advance
  8. So I play with Cleveland TA-2's (+.5 inch/2 deg. up) w/ DGS300 in them and I'm looking at either replacing the shafts or just getting a new set. I've been feeling for the past few seasons that I hit my long irons very high and I feel like I'm losing distance on them because of it. My driver swing speed is 95-100 mph and I usually driver the ball around 265-270 with an older Taylor Made (R510) stock stiff to give some background. I probably only hit my 3 and 2 iron's 195-210 with a high, soft landing shot while I can hit the 7 close to 160 with seemingly a more average to high flight. Also on a side note.... I just bought a Taylor Made Burner 2.0 and I've only hit it at the range but I feel maybe 10-15 yards longer with it. I've heard some good things about the project x line of shafts and was considering purchasing some of them. My questions are... 1. If I were to change shafts, which of the two do you think would benefit me more? 2. Do you think DGS-300 is still the right stiffness and what project x flex would you recommend? Any help would be appreciated.
