  1. Average controlled driver swing gets me right around 245-255 with little to no roll (playing a controlled fade). When I play a draw I'm probably more in the 265-270 range, but I have a hard time keeping that draw from turning into a hook. When I catch one pure I can put it out there 280 yards, but that's maybe once or twice a round. I tend to play very early in the morning when the course is wet so I don't get much roll unfortunately. Furthest I've ever hit one was 363 yards - downwind, on a firm fairway, and I was thirteen years younger. I still remember it though. 515 yard par-5. I took a huge swing since I wanted to give myself a chance at eagle. As soon as I made contact I turned to my playing partners and said "that one is LOOOOOOOONNNNNNNGGGGG. REALLY REALLY LONG." I had never hit a ball that pure before and I haven't since.
  2. Played my first round with my new GigaGolf TRX V.11 irons (burner 2.0 clones), SP3 putter, and TRX 3 hybrid, and shot 82 from the tips on 6750 yard, par 73 course. Only thing keeping me out of the 70's was a wildly inconsistent tee ball. I list my index as a 14 but that's because I've only gotten out to play maybe 20 times since the end of the last millennium. Looking to play and practice more consistently this summer and get my number down in the single digits - hopefully, the 6 or 7 range (or better!).
  3. This...honestly. Putting ultimately comes down to feel and confidence. Once you lose confidence with a certain putter in your hand you are not going to magically get it back through hours of repetition on the green. You need to throw your brain (and body) a curveball and what better way to do it then by picking up a totally different putter. If you're currently using a mallet, pick up a blade and give it a shot. If you're using a 35'', grab a 34". A heavy putter, grab a lighter one. Seriously, give it a shot.
