  1. Welcome from a fellow Texan!
  2. I'm just saying it's a better alternative, I did not say it was the best one... I'm not buying it. But to address your point, the majority of the cheap laser pointers require you to hold down the button for safety reasons but I'm sure there's a way around that.
  3. I had my first lesson at Edwin Watts last night and we used this laser attachment, http://www.practicerange.com/Plane-Sight-Laser-P356.aspx . It was very helpful in seeing your swing plane. The Golf Channel's academy had a lesson on plane and I had been working on it at the range but when I put this on my club I could clearly see how vertical I was at the top... Sorry slightly off topic but for less than $100 I think this would be a much better investment, IMO.
  4. Sorry to pull up this old thread but it was the most relevant thread I could find. What are people's opinion on wire brushes? I have one similar to the Frogger but feel that the wire brush is too harsh even for my irons. Can these brushes do damage to my grooves or am I just being paranoid?
  5. Thanks for the tip! I have my Tivo setup for all the Golf Channel instructional shows I can find. I've also been reading exerpts from various Golf books on the Apple iBooks store but have not yet pulled the trigger. I was going to do some searching on here and see what everyone else has read.
  6. Hi everyone, I'm a Texas hacker working on my game now that I have more spare time after business school. I've been trolling for a while in the instruction and equipment forums. Love the content and seems like a great group with honest and friendly advice. I recently joined a private club here in the DFW area, Great Southwest and have been really enjoying the challenge of the course. I am working on getting my scores back in the 80's and have been thinking about some lessons but have stuck to the range until my full swing developes a little more consistency, this might be a bad idea... I'm open to opinions. I hope to get a lot out of this site and plan to contribute my opinion where I can add value. Thanks, Rich
