  1. ok great, thanks for the rec and the feedbacks, I'll take it to some experts and hopefully get some good news.
  2. So I was in one of those dual level driving ranges, hitting from the bottom range. You probably already know how this ends but I started working on my extension in the follow through and sure enough I nailed the heating vent at the top. This is the damage now on the top of my club. I can't really tell anything different when swinging it even though it is interesting that the Epiq with the already strange sound now makes a different sound on contact. Is this something I should be concerned with?
  3. I've been watching this video from Greg Grexa and a few other of these tempo videos. The whole be smooth at the top and go fast at the end sure does seem easier to say than to actually do but I'm hoping maybe this will help. What do you all think about it?
  4. I've seen Adam Scott talk about this as well, make sure you turn back at the same pace as when you were turning your shoulders on the back swing. Thanks everyone for the input, hopefully something clicks for me out there!
  5. I'm one of those guys who never played when I was young so I don't have the same repeatable swing built in me. I have played enough that if I can get out of my own head I can play really well. My problem is and I feel like it is starting to happen more now is all of a sudden I take a relaxed backswing but something inside my head clicks and makes me want to kill the ball and you know how that goes. I feel like I need some 'tricks' or something to clear my head like a breathing drill or even maybe something to help with me to not move my head. I've tried staring at the backside of the ball, staring at the ground behind the ball and even closing my eyes just for the heck of it. Anyone have any swing thoughts they use or something that has worked to keep that relaxed tempo through the swing?
  6. Thank you both for the advice and links. I did notice my backswing was more flat that anything and worked on that today and saw a difference. I also noticed my takeaway was to far inside and fixed it also. Grip is something I have been making myself concentrate on more so I need to keep focusing on that. Thanks again!
  7. Hi all, I haven't posted a swing in a while, I went out and shot 85 yesterday with this swing. I get no power (which you will obviously see) but I'm going straight consistently and chipping/putting helped me get to that 85. I figured it was time to look at the swing again... Thanks in advance!
  8. I know this is an old thread but my swing speed is about the same. What ball do you use?
  9. The last video isn't good, here is a better version
  10. I have an updated video, I've been doing the contact drill and also focused a little more on my knee flex. It looks to me a little better but I'm not the judge of that obviously.... I made sure to have the grip more in the fingers, but still don't hinge the club and I have no idea why.
  11. I was able to replicate this drill pretty well on the driving range today. I took my 7 iron and I would do this drill and basically hit it almost 150 with just a half swing. I could feel my club making contact with the ball first (on the mat so wasn't able to judge by the divot) and the ball had that low piercing trajectory. My problem than was trying to replicate this with even just half swings and I couldn't do it. What should I concentrate on (or any drills to practice) so start to get to this impact position with even 1/4 or half swings and work my way up to a full swing? Thanks again!
  12. Thanks for the info and the drills. I'll work on that, I actually hit closer to 90 but I still feel so far away from being consistent (which you can obviously tell on my swing) so starting fresh with drills like these most likely is the best way to break down my swing. Thanks!
  13. I actually found your video about the importance of hips in golf swing and you point out how the right foot should be putting pressure into the ground while the left knee flexes, i'll make sure to keep that in mind as well. Regarding the grip, I know I squeeze the club to hard sometimes, especially because I was messing around with the double overlap grip one time and it feels like I'm barely holding the club and it felt like I was able to get more wrist cock action and release the club easier with that grip. I just need to go back to my neutral interlock but make sure it is in my fingers and not to squeeze it to tight....
  14. Thanks for the info mvmac. About the more flex in my left knee, I feel when I do that I start to reverse pivot a little. Is there something I should be conscious about when doing this so I'm not putting my weight more on my left leg when bending it more (maybe a little more bend on my right knee to, what I try to do with my right knee is keep it on the inside of my fight foot so it doesn't twist during my turn). Thanks again!
  15. I've been Playing Golf for: 5 years My current handicap index or average score is: 90-95 My typical ball flight is: high and inconsistent The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: hooks Videos: I know right off the bat my wrist hinge is poor so any and all tips on the complete swing will help, thanks in advance!
  16. My average swing speed with my driver was around 95, topping off around 98 a few times. What do you all think would be the best ball to use?
  17. So I was able to concentrate on a few things and now I am making real good contact and hitting a nice draw. The sound off of the club isn't that "chunk" sound when my swing was inside out and not making solid contact. The one thing that is weird though is I couldn't tell because I was hitting off of the mat but I would sneak in front to the grass and when I make contact with any club I am not taking a divot at all (or if I do it is a tiny one in front of the ball). It's as if I am just making flush contact with the ball and not the ground after. Is this a case of flipping and scooping the ball? My ball flight is really high as well to for all the clubs (not moonshots but not a piercing trajectory either, kind of mid to high I guess).
  18. So does the higher number mean more spin or more distance?
  19. When I went to golf galaxy and did the ball fitting, the Callaway iZ (or iX) was the one they said suited me the best. So of course that ball is no more, is the Chrome the one that replaced it?
  20. I saw the picture in another post or elsewhere on the 'interweb' showing how Hogan had the ball for every shot inside his from left foot and his right foot would be farther back depending on the club but my question is doesn't this promote a high ball flight and make it harder to hit 'down ' on it?
  21. I see what you are saying, is it more of trying to make your right elbow come close to your left elbow on the way down so that it also doesn't get stuck behind you (and it looks like the Hogan video posted earlier)?
  22. Does anyone have a visual of the part in bold below (end of handle pointing left of target). I can't visualize this, does this mean that the head of the club is on the outside coming down?
  23. I feel like I have multiple things to work on with my swing, starting from shoulder turn to initiating downswing with hips to having no lag to arms not in front of clubhead at contact. I keep trying to just fix certain things but should I just start fresh and work on one thing at a time? If so what sequence of things should I start with first and move on to the next thing from there? Thanks in advance.
  24. I feel like a big issue I have is I'm not getting enough wrist cock at the top of my swing, are there certain grips that help out with that or tips/drills anyone can suggest? Thanks in advance!
  25. I don't know if this will help, but I feel like this latest drill has helped me a lot. I line the ball with my front foot for all clubs, I feel like when it is that far up it won't let you flip your hands or release to early because the ball is that far up. I feel like I'm in the same situation as you, I buy every training aid known to man...
