    Jobs

Before 16 I never had a "steady" job. I would do work for my Dad and relatives that needed an extra hand with yard work or construction(building decks, plumbing, destruction, pouring concrete, etc). My parents never wanted me to have a real job that might interfere with school by working nights, so I worked in their office after school. Mostly doing filing, answering phones, computer stuff, etc. In college, I waited tables at a 50's style Diner, but only for about 4 months. The owner's lazy ass son took my hours, so I opted to work some shifts as a dishwasher. Horrible work, I wasn't trained in dishwashing...I showed up and they said "Get to it." My shift was over at 10:00 p.m., but I didn't finish until 2:00 a.m. So I quit that to go back to waiting, but since they were shady about all their business practices, they told me that I couldn't because the owner's son had taken the rest of my hours. So I quit and moved on to working at a Sonic flipping burgers. Not a bad job if you don't mind sweating your ass off and smelling like french fries. I eventually began working 60+ hours a week there and was performing a lot of the management duties, but I wasn't receiving the management pay. I quit that when I began commuting back and forth to my new college. I did some odd jobs for varied amounts of money, some of them may be refered to as "illegal," but they put money in my pocket. Ah, the joys of being a computer geek. Then I had an internship for the Network Admin of my college. And now I'm currently working for a Damage Prevention Company that sends me all over the world to fix problems. Maybe get a job as a caddy? Do they still have those? Every course I've been to(even the super nice country clubs) have replaced the caddy with the golf cart.
  2. Basketball(Go Spurs!), Hockey, Ping-Pong, Tennis, Dart Throwing, Foosball. Yeah, some of them are Bar Sports, I know.
  3. Oh, I wasn't clear on that. $56 for 18 on weekends for non-members. With a Membership I think it's $20 for 18 on weekends and $12 during the week, but the $2400 a year I gotta spend on food at their overated restaurant is what kills me.
  4. That sucks. I always make time for my autograph seekers. Psshhh! Tiger needs a reality check. By the way, I'm currently in Omaha, Nebraska on business and have passed by several nice courses. Wish I brought my sticks! Also entered a raffle at a forklift distirbutor that was giving away an Ogio Exo Bag and a Ping Putter, both had a Toyota emblem on them(bag and putter grip), but that's cool since I drive a Toyota. *fingers crossed*
  5. I looked into a membership at the local CC here. $800 per year, still have to pay for green fees(at a discounted rate), and spend at least $200 per month on food/drinks at the Country Club bar and grill. But you get access to the tennis courts and swimming pool...not that I care for that stuff. It's about $33 for 18 during the week and $56 on weekends, but they have discounted days like Thursdays for $10 for 18($20 with a cart) and Saturdays after 5:00 p.m. it's the same price. On my salary I can't afford to pay $200 per month on food and drinks AND play golf as much as I would like. So I travel around the local semi-private and public courses during the week to play whatever course has the cheapest green fees.
  6. I have the opposite problem. I have a slight fade that occassionally turns into a nasty slice. Ewwww...
  7. Tees, simple divot repair tool, an extra ball, and a Canadian Quarter.
  8. My Tommy Armour 845u irons came from eBay. I don't have a single complaint about them. If they are counterfeit(which I doubt), they don't hit like counterfeit irons.
  9. Mmmmmm...I had the privilige of sampling all of the fine Canadian Brews when I was in Nova Scotia on business. Keith's is excellent, but I had another one called Ricket's Red or something like that. I have a pretty strong tolerance, but 3 12 oz. drafts got me tipsy. Blue Moon is another good one. A sales rep for our company took me out for a nice night of 24 oz. Blue Moon drafts. And I wish I had your warning before that night. My favorite beers: Corona/Corona Light, Miller Lite, Shiner Bock, Arrogant Bastard Ale, Dead Guy Ale, Modelo Especial Favorite Shot: Jagermeister Mixed Drink: Bourbon and Coke Non-Alcoholic Beverage: Unsweet Iced Tea, Water, Propel Fitness Water(good stuff) I drink after I leave the course, beer throws my game.
  10. I have a Boston Terrier named Zoey. Stats: Gender: Female Age: 18 months Height: 16.21" (No I haven't really measured her height) Weight: A whopping 19 lbs. Race: Black AND White Speed: 1,000 MPH (Or it at least seems like it) Secret Weapon: Farts of Death Special Move: Flipping Out Shortest Chew Toy Life Span: 30 seconds (Truth) Longest Toy Life Span: 2 weeks Pics Here
  11. I too read the review and the Ogio Exo will be my next bag. I was looking for a new bag and doing some research and came across this site where I found the review. Excellent review. I'm using an old PING stand bag I got in high school when I was hitting PING irons. Now the only PING club in my bag is my putter. It gets a little annoying when people keep commenting: "A PING bag and Tommy Armour Irons, what's up with that?" I'm really tired of hitting them in the face with my putter. j/k I know what he means on the grips catching on each other, it gets annoying after a while. Edit: I clicked a few of the links that Rafcin posted and came across THIS(clickme) . I think I would get beat up if I ever wore that out on the course.
  12. It's a huge lake/state park. It's fairly expensive living which is why I live about 10 miles away in a neighboring town. Most people have never heard of my town, but have heard of Possum Kingdom Lake which is why I list it that way. Possum Kingdom Lake That website is kind of crappy. The Cliffs That's a link to The Cliffs at Possum Kingdom.
  13. I might need to pick up a dozen of the BlackMax to see what the hype is about. On another note, I was at a Bridgestone/Firestone plant on business one time and visited their "Gift Shop" and found golf balls for fairly cheap. They also had Bridgestone/Firestone golf shirts, hats, coolers, pens, etc, etc.
  14. Erica Blasberg is numero uno for me.
  15. Too many crazy cart stories from high school. Not all of them were mine, but guys I was playing with. However a cart related story from recently is... About 12 of us from work go out every Thursday and play a 2 team scramble for fun. We were trying to beat daylight on the last hole and had all of the carts lined up to the right of where we were hitting from. We all hit our shots, then a guy who had been drinking while playing lines up his shot and takes his swing. I don't know how he managed to hit the ball so bad, but he toed it and it ricocheted off of the little 1" piece of aluminum on the front "windshield" bar and comes straight back at all of us nearly hitting 5 people. The odds of hitting that 1" piece out of the entire open area were at least a thousand to one.
  16. Driver: 250-260(Old Driver) - 290+ (New Cleveland Launcher 460 Titanium - Longest in play was around 305-310) 3W: Don't carry one. 3i: 200-210 4i: 190-ish 5i: 175-185 6i: 165 7i: 150-155 8i: 140 9i: 120-130 PW: 100-110 52 degree: 95-100
  17. I agree with Rafcin. You have to move forward and advance in every way possible. If I had the opportunity to play PGA or play AJGA when I was that age, I would choose PGA. If you choose the "safe" route and play AJGA, you will live the rest of your life thinking "what if?" Don't live in regret and years later wonder what would have happened if you chose Path A over Path B. You will never know the answer unless you go for it.
  18. Hello everyone. I've been reading on here for a couple of days and finally registered. I've been playing golf for close to 16 years now or since around age 8. My Dad, Uncle, and cousins are all golfers so it runs in the family. Played in high school and took golf in college as my physical education requirements. I shoot around 80 on most days, but I have my good and bad days like everyone else. I hit my first 300+ yard drive yesterday thanks to my new Cleveland Launcher 460 Titanium *evil grin*. Tommy Armour 845u Silver Back irons and an old school PING Nelli putter also fill my bag. I live in North Texas close to one of the nicest(and hardest) courses in Texas...The Cliffs. Tons of nice 9 hole courses around the area. Works ending now and I think I hear 18 holes calling my name. Edit: I was on the phone with a customer and screwed up my club details. It's been corrected. -Zeb
