  1. Last weekend I was in Walmart looking at balls when the guy working the sporting goods department told me about the clearance section. I walked over and found the Maxfli Fire balls (3 piece balls) for $5.00 a dozen. I ended up with 10 boxes and they hit pretty damn good. If you Walmart still has them, I suggest you try those. Unbeatable for the money. --Josh
  2. Played miserable. Absolutely miserable. Couldn't do anything I was trying to do. I have decided not to waste another dollar on green's fees until I get lessons. Absolutely no consistancy right now :( --Josh

  4. Playing 18 in the morning. Weather looks great. Is there a better feeling than the night before? I can't wait! WOOHOO!
  5. I have only been playing golf for a few months. Went to Philadelphia for a bachelor party and played at Dancing Rabbit (BTW, NEVER play there in the winter if it has rained. Drainage is nonexistant) with my buddies. They are all scratch golfers. I ended up losing so many balls that I walked back to the clubhouse around 11 because I was slowing them down so much. I was REALLY frustrated at myself and the game. Decided to take a breather for 2 weeks and not practice. Got a wild hair Saturday to go play 9. Got there and felt really intimidated as I am waiting in the 20+ person line to tee off and really stressing that first shot. Ended up being sent to the front with a 3 man group. Very friendly group and I decide to just have fun. I ended up shooting my first real par (I know, no biggie for most) and didn't have to pickup (8) a single time. This was also a first time for me. Ended up playing back 9 with them as well and had the time of my life. God I love this game! --Josh
  6. I have been kicking the idea around and contacted a few local clubs to my area. Here is what I was quoted this week: Club #1 - 3 yr/10k promisary note commitment. 315 a month for being under 35 plus (includes 40 minimum of food). 18 holes, weight room, club, tennis, and pool. Club #2 - 5k initiation. 350 month for Golf/range (crappy range)/pool/tennis. Also have 40 minimum a month for food. I like this club better, but I just found out they voted to close the course for 9 months for an overhaul. But I was told "Don't worry though, you can still use the clubhouse!". After the course reopens, 7500 to join. --Josh
  7. Brilliant! LOL! HAHAHAH! --Josh
  8. I am fairly new to the game. Sometimes I par, sometimes I do miserable. If noone is behind me, I write down exactly the number of strokes it takes me to finish a hole. If someone is behind me, or I am playing with someone much better than me, I stop at 8. I take one mulligan tee shot per 9. Other than that I stay 100%, or I will never know when I actually improve. --Josh
  9. For whatever reason I almost never smoke the front 9. Back 9, I fire up a PSD4 or a nice CAO.
  10. CB's here. All I have ever played with, and with all the stories of blades bending you over, I will stick with CB's until I break below 90 :). --Josh
  11. My sister in law is a music nut, so I have approximately 15,000 songs. I am slowly weeding through them (Who needs 50 versions of the same Pearl Jam song?!?!). Recently downloaded a guy named Brandon Pigg (sp) off of iTunes thats really mellow and I listen to him when putting. --Josh
  12. Callaway Warbird Hot (Black and Grey w/ Orange). Its a walking bag. I made a resolution to walk more, and I really do play better when I walk. I love the pockets on it. My best bag yet. --Josh
  13. You might try Oak Mountain State Park Golf Course. Its a decent course, the maintenance is actually really good, and the course plays well. I have never been dissapointed playing there to be honest, and its not expensive. 28 bucks for 18 with a cart I think on weekends. Trust me, its worth running through imo. --Josh
  14. First post. :) I played for the first time in 4+ years and this was probably my 4th or 5th time ever playing. I played with a good friend who plays a good bit. We played a local municipal course and I was 3-4 over par every hole. I tried not to get frustrated but it happens when everyone around you is hitting for par. Then I came home and started thinking about how much fun its going to be when I play consistantly. So ladies and gentleman, I am hooked to say the least. I am going to try and go catch a fast game early in the morning at another local municipal course. --Josh
