  1. Went out again today and tried a bunch of clubs - I got a store to put me on a launch monitor - really nice sales guy helped me - he recommended I tried out these clubs cobra speed ld 10.5 taylormade r7 460 10.5 Callaway X460 10 AND 13 R7 DRAW 10.5 AND HT BIG BERTHA 460 11 and 13 The r7 draw HT gave me the best result, long and pretty straight.. I was still getting a few slices from time to time but for the most part straight.. I went straight to the range afterwards and i was shocked at how similar the results were, I was hitting the 250 yard flags pretty ocnsistently for a newbie..... I am definitley loving life right now and cannot wait to go play tomorrow - Thanks for every bodies help!!!
  2. wenyt to the range tried what you said - hit the 6 iron awesome again. i was loveing life - the 5 still a little trouble distance was good - but spraying everywhere, and never hit the sweet spot - the 4 iron im beginning to think is useless for me like my 3 iron.... i have a slow swing speed and im pretty short so i dont know if that has anyything to do with it..... im only 5'5" - someone told me id do better if my clubs were shorter -
  3. I ha dthe same problems with my 3 iron - i replaced it with a hybrid and i hit my hybrid straight and around 190-200 - with little effort..... thts why i wondered if the hybrids would make a difference....
  4. does anyone have any experience with the x hot? thinking i can maybe kill 2 birds with it a s a driver/ 3 wood.....
  5. thats a problem - im losing loyts of confidence when it comes to these clubs......
  6. that tyoe of in fo would be good right??? sorry - My 6 iron used to be a nice trajectory distance - sometimes a nice draw... but now its always a thin shot that stings through my club to my hands and doesnt go too far - maybe a100 yards.. My 4 and 5 iron is getting the distances i would i assume i should get - around 180 on the 4 170 on the 5 - but with a really nasty hook or slice very low shots. I am making terrible contact with these clubs and cant seem to hit down on them like i do with the shorter irons.
  7. I am in liv ewith my irons - at least most of them - 7 to pitching wedge is awesome - I almost never miss with them - and they are so precise it is ridiculous - they are my "show off" clubs. ANyway - i used yto hit y six iron just the same and now i cant hit it for nothing....i never hit the 4 or th 5 consistently - but im finding myself needing these 3 irons more and more - but its always a crap shoot..... And tips for hitting this irons or should I go to hybrids???
  8. I was on a 150 yd par 3 today - pulld out my 8 iron aimed for the flag - landed right behind the pin - rolled back towards the flag - got to the green and had a 2 foot putt for birdie - then i putt and the ball sits on the edg eof the hole and doesnt go in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. ive taken lots of lessons, and my instructor told me i should look at a new driver..... my mind is set on buying a new driver - so im going to buy a new driver...
  10. Shoot a miserable 43 on a par 30 9 hoile......
  11. Just went to gold galaxy - hit the Adams BUL and BTY the bul 3 woood, the TM Burner and the cobra ld - was not hitting the adams very well. On the simulator the cobra and the burner were getting the same disatnce - roughly 240 yards - I seemed to be gettinga straighter ball flight with the cobra, where the burner was either rihght or left, im guessing do to the longer shaft????? I liked both drivers alot - but the sound of the cobra is annoying.................. I want to go buy tomorrow - unsure of what to go with...
  12. i only tee up my long irons and woods. sometype of mental thing with my 6 iron to PW- I cannot hit them off a tee....
  13. havent hiut the burner yet - its pon my list - i liked the adams - but it was in a simulator - I hate simulators....... The cleveland stuff I dont seem to have any luck with...
  14. I tried the cig bertha - i wasnt to crazy about it.. i dont kjnow why.... From what I heard the titleist is not that forgoving, and i will not be ablke to hit it good, supposed to be more fro low handicappers..... that is basically why i held of on hitting it..
  15. Anyone have any recomendations on some drivers???
  16. I have the burton hybrid bag - nice bag - heres a link http://www.burtongolf.com/productdet...ategoriesid=12 Gives the best of both worlds and the external putter well is awesome.
  17. i ma go purchase a driver this weekend. I was hitting the adams insight - in a simulator though... but for 300 beans with a free fairway wood is a good deal....
  18. Typicalluy my 7 iron distance is 150-160 yards....
  19. Thats exact;y what ive been doing... about half the ball above the crown, inside left heel...
  20. What about ball position - would that affect ball flight???
  21. I have the Mizuno Bettinardi c-03 - I absolutely LOVE this putter. I spent hours a day trying different putters out in the stores, I was ready to bar a rife 2 bar blade - then I started using the mzuno. The feel was just amazing.... I had got fitted for the putter and i can not say anything bad about my putting game. it goes where I aim and this is my by far my favorite club in the bag...
  22. The shaft is a regular flex. I never really had this problem with my old driver - callaway ft-3 with aldila stock shaft. shots would get a nice trajectory- unfortunatley i broke it.... I tend to read alot - magazines, forums and alot of people say that with a swing speed in the low 90s you should be using a 11-12 degree driver head..... What else could effect the trajectory>? could the tee height play a big roll in it>?
  23. I have the MX-23 - I just strted playing this spring and I can hit them well - I struggle with the long irons - but that sems to be a trend with new golfers.... ANyway - they are pretty forgiving and they are forged so you can get fitted anywhere and they can bend them all day long.... you can get them used pretty cheap - i bought mine for 290 at a golf galaxy used. I suck pretty bad when it comes to my iron game - but these have made a big improvement especially from the 6 iron to the wedge... From what people tell me these can last with you for a long time way down to the single digit handicaps.... Im wondering if the mx-25 is a big improvement over the 23 - cuz i may be selling these if they are.....
  24. I am having a hard time getting my driver to get up in the air.. All of my drives seem to fly a few feet above the ground then die out at around 180 yards, i end up getting maybe 200 yards with roll.... ive hit this driver good 2 times - where I made it past the 200 yard mark.... Shockingly one of those hits was 270 - with a good roll of course... EVrything else seems fine with the driver - i like the feel of it and i hit it very straight.... Could it be the loft? Its a 9.5 - but I have a slowish swing speed - around 89-95 - Would a higher loft benefit me??? or could it be the shaft? im using the stock taylormade shaft... I was looking into these drivers cobra f speed taylormade burner callaway x 460 nickent square I hit the cobra and the nickent in a simulator - i felt like i was crushing the ball every time... very good contact- the other 2 i hit into a net.. i was making good contact but who knows where the balls were reallly going???? Anyway - what would benefit me more - more loft or a different shaft??? Thanks in advance!
  25. sux... I want to buy a new driver and 3 wood, but i hate buying blind - which is how i feel with these simulators.... There are never any demo days in my area either which sucks. Unless i dont know where to look.... last week one of the local driving ranges had cobra there, but it wasnt liste on cobras site......
