  1. i played The Colonial Country club in Ft. Worth about a month ago. Like you said, it wasnt even in tournament condition and it OWNED me!
  2. ...that actually went well. Iv taken a few lessons at the local golf store, but I always left there wondering if the guys were telling me the right things. Seemed like the 2 guys always contradicted themselves. And really all they did was video my swing, then compare me to Tiger and say... this is what your doing wrong so I figured Id give this lesson thing one last chance. Id book a lesson with a real instructor and if it doesnt go well, Im on my own from here on out. So i booked a 1 hour lesson at the Jim McClean golf school in Ft. Worth with a master instructor. It felt so good, we were on the right page the entire time. we actually went over our time and was watching a timer counting down til my time was up! Basically my club is doing all the right things. swing plane, face, etc... its my body thats a little off. I dont rotate my hips, but rather slide them back. Gave me some drills and went back outside and was hitting a pretty little draw. I have some work to do on the range to practice this, but for the first time I left actually encouraged and understood what he was telling me.... THERE IS SOME HOPE!!!!
  3. well I did it! I finally did it! Iv been so close lately its been killing me. My last 3 rounds were 91, 93, 91... then on Saturday I shot an 88. In my mind, I always thought the day I shoot in the 80s it would be a good round of golf. That was really all I ever wanted, just to shoot 80s every time out. That WAS my goal. Wow, how things change after one round of golf..... for the first time ever, I actually see myself shooting 70s one day now. This "best ever round of golf" wasnt so good afterall. I look back now and wonder how did I ever shoot a 120? I only hit 2 fairways and 2 GIR, putted 34 times!!! I shot a 47 on the front!! But I was pretty solid on the back. I parred 4 of the last 5 holes on the back and shot a 41. Needless to say, Im very excited. Im glad it finally came. I have literally dropped about 15-20 strokes in a year. Now I just need to do that again over the next year.... (obviously the next 15 are harder)
  4. one thing I thought of, but not sure it really true. But my irons all have stiff shafts and I was fitted for them. They are about 1/2" shorter and also lightweight. The shaft in my driver is regular flex and standard weight/length... I thought maybe this could have something to do with it. My hybrids are stock shafts also, but they are stiff. Just not any lighter/shorter... I hit those right also. 6 iron and down Im overall happy with, not much of a slice at all. but these are the ones with the true temper dynalite shafts I have custom fit.
  5. Iv been playing golf about 2 years, about 1 year consistently. Over the past year I have done alot to try and improve my game. I have taken lessons, bought new equipment, been fitted, etc.. I now go to the range about 1-2 times a week, and if Im lucky play 1 time a week. So Im starting to get a more consistent swing. Seldomly do the totally horrible mishits, tops, fat duffs, etc. Here is my problem though. Forever, when I missed I would hook the ball. Now all a sudden (literally the past month or two) I have a slice on all my long clubs, specifically my driver. I thought, well maybe since I hit wedges and scoring irons good, Im just swinging too hard on long clubs. but thats not really the case, I specially tried slowing down last night on range, no success. I tried changing my feed, grip, ball more forward, back, etc... everything I could think of just to make a change and nothing worked... went right almost every single time. its not really a HUGE banana that would go OB all the time, but would always go right. any ideas or tips/drills to try and straighten out my shot? Im getting happy with my contact lately, I can even live with my distances... I just wanna hit it straighter (dont we all?)
  6. i really like the look of the MP-62 (of the ones that arent MP32, MP67, MP68)
  7. Im really starting to dig the Mizuno for some reason. What other ones are on same line as the MP52? Would the MP60 Cut Muscle be along those lines?
  8. wow, shindig. Thank you for that post.
  9. Not sure if this means much. But she did say they have serial numbers. Couldn't you call mizuno to verify
  10. hmmm, well it has me intrigued to say the least. $212 shipped? Almost worth it to try it out
  11. here is the link to the chinese site. i just heard back from them, she said they are authentic and not reproductions. So either she is lying, its a hell of a deal or they are some kind of rejects from the factory? They send my a pricelist of everything too. Bags are all $115 http://www.feiyanggolf.com/
  12. i noticed there is a thing down by my signature to post my scorecard stats? I looked everywhere, how do I get my scorecard stats online?
  13. Iv been playing golf for about 2 years now. Im playing with Adams A3 irons. Not the OS version. Im dying to get a new set of irons for something new. If it were based on looks alone, Id go with the Titleist Z Blend or Mizuno MP32. But Im afraid to go to a blade since Im still not very good. Im consistently in the 90s, and the last 2 times out I shot 91 and 91. Im starting to get my swing down, but even I know Im still not where I want to be. My goal is to be in 80s by the end of the year. Im so close. But that isnt changing the fact that I want new irons. If you were new to golf again and gonna get any irons on the market, what would you get?
  14. ill post the link when I get to work, its bookmarked on my work computer. they did have bags, balls, shirts, etc
  15. i was showing my buddy the new Mizuno MP68s that are coming out and we both fell in love. Were searching the internet for as many pictures and information as we could find on them. He currently has the MP32s.. Anyway, he came across a store in China that has almost iron set you can imagine for about $200. They even have the MP68. Knowing these are fake, he still ordered a set. They look IDENTICAL to every other picture we have seen. I keep telling him he made a mistake, and he keeps telling me why? its only $200, what do I have to lose? I dont know what to tell him to be honest, I keep thinking in my mind that they must not feel or hit the same. Anyone have any first hand experience with chinese knock offs? is it just a moral thing, supporting a criminal? or are these clubs actually gonna fall apart?
  16. well what do you guys think about a set like the Titleist Z Blend? It has a mix of cavity backs for the long irons and muscle backs for the short irons
  17. Im still a beginner and I know Im not good enough to be using a blade, but something about them is just sexy to me! I want some blades really bad. My question is really a 2 part question... 1. when do you know you are ready enough for blades? How much "harder" are they to hit than other irons? 2. curious, what is your favorite looking blades out there? I like the MP32s of the ones i have seen in person
  18. i did the same thing with my first set of clubs (nike slingshots)... i just hated looking down at them, they were sooo big. I went with the Adams A3 and like them alot better. but now I want some blades. I just know my game cannot handle the blades
  19. Im looking at buying a Fujijura Rombax shaft for my driver. The model I want runs almost $300 new online. So i searched ebay and found a couple alternatives for about half the price or less. They all say they are pulled off a tour issued club and never hit. Just installed. One or two even say never gripped or tipped. What is tipped mean? if i go this route, what are questions and things I should look for?
  20. I have only been playing golf for about 2 years now. Really been big into it the past year. I have improved alot. Im consistently shooting low 90s now, should break into 80s any day now. Im 5'11", 185 lbs. Not a huge power swinger, in fact one of things I think that has contributed to me hitting better is swinging slower. I have the Adams A3 irons/hybrids and recently had shafts all changed to True Temper Dynalite high trajectory shafts. I also had them cut down about 3/4" to fit me according to True Temper's measuring system. Ill be honest, this has been the best $200 I have spent in golf. Im not sure if its the shaft itself or the shorter length, or maybe the combo. But I hit my irons way better than I used too. 8/10 iron shots get high in air and look great. With that being said, I do not hit my longer clubs very well. Im just now starting to get decent on my driver, but my hybrids and 3 wood... FORGET IT! And Im wondering if it has anything to do with shafts now? They are all the standard shafts the clubs came with. So Im thinking about getting them all redone (3,4,5 hybrid and 3wood, driver). Anyone have any recommendations on some shafts? Id like something that I can continue to "try" and swing nice/easy tempo. Id also like something maybe a little on the lighter side. I perfer it lighter for some reason. Also wouldnt mind something to assist me in getting it higher!
  21. wow, you guys are lucky. Im like the original poster, I average about 3-4 times a month. If I had my way, Id hit range once a week and play once a week. But with 2 kids and a wife, its very hard to find time.
  22. i have one room in the house that my wife has given me. Its where my LCD tv hangs and all my memoribila that I have collected over the years is. I have the very first sports illustrated magazine framed and hanging up in my room and its a nice conversation piece when people come over. So I started thinking about getting one that relates to golf, but after alot of searching on google and ebay, i have come up short. anyone know what would be the first golf digest magazine? or even the first ever golf magazine period?
  23. still pretty new golfer here, only been playing seriously for about a year. About a month or two ago I was starting to get pretty comfortable with my swing. But the last 2 times out I have felt very uncomfortable and my back is killing me about half way through the round. I must be doing something wrong, but Im not good enough to pinpoint it. My main flaws seem to be: - hooking, almost never slice - hit fat - hit on toe of club I just dont feel comfortable in my swing, any ideas?
  24. well guys, I went with scotty-golf.com for now. Figure people searching google for scotty cameron may end up on my site too... anyway, got a long ways to go, but just about have homepage done... what you think? www.scotty-golf.com
