Until today I thought it was dictated by elevation or something, but the numbers didn't always make sense in that respect. Never wanted to ask and look like an idiot in the pro shop.

This may be what convinces me to join my local semi-private. It's affiliated with seven or eight other clubs within an hour drive. They are offering the same type of deal, with a waived initiation fee, but I know I won't be able to get my money's worth until spring.

I ordered a few dozen NXT Tours from usedgolfballdeals.com last week. I was very impressed with the AAA quality, and the AA was better than I expected. As someone else mentioned, it seems like a lot of the AAA balls are logo overruns and may never have been hit.

Thanks for the help atm90210. I called and all of Peninsula is back open so thats probably the other course we'll play.

Anybody have suggestions for the best courses in or around Gulf Shores? Currently have a tee time at Kiva Dunes and looking at maybe Peninsula. I will only get to play twice while I'm there so I wanna make it count.

Nope, but I'll look into it. Think I'm probably just gonna bring the laptop tomorrow and run it off an outside network.

No doubt, I didn't expect anybody to turn in a round better than 3 or 4under. Of course this may change as the heat takes it's toll by the weekend. Wish my network admin hadn't killed the streaming video.

Don't count Ernie out of this one. Don't think he'll win, but could likely be in the top 10. Got to watch him for a few holes yesterday and he played 12 through 16 better than anyone else I saw.
