  1. You think I would like the steel shaft? Perhaps they may seem more balanced?
  2. It's not that the whole club feels "heavy" it's just that the club "head" feels heavy. That aside...You know after using many clubs when you find a set that "feels" good to you? well, my old Nike slingshots did not do that for me. They just didn't feel right or comfortable to me. So I'm looking for another set from a high end manufacturer.
  3. I had a set of Nike slingshots with graphite shaft. Sold them. What would be a few steps up for my next purchase. I did not like the graphite shaft and the iron's felt heavy to me. I looked at the new Nike's not to sure about them. Anyone have any suggestions? Can some post a link to some reviews of th clubs coming out. Thank you.
  4. I hit the irons pretty good. Takes me a 5 minutes to warm up, but after that I seem to do well. I will look at the new drivers coming out and will have my eye out for the new TaylorMade.
  5. Yeah, I'm going to sell it. I will continue my search for a driver when the time is right. I should be able to get 200 for my old Sumo 2 ( I hope) It just is not the right club for me.
  6. I started hitting the ball at the driving range about a month and a half ago. I bought a 29 dollar club at walmart and was driving the ball on average 200-225 yards. sometimes 250. Never over 250, kinda makes me upset. So............ as you see in my other posts I bought clubs and decided to take lessons with a pro. This has worked out well. When I'm with him at the Club (yes I joined one) he just wants me to hit the irons. OK fine, thats what I do......hit the irons..........ball after ball. I practice almost everyday. Anyways.....I bought a Nike Sasquatch hybrid, a #4 17 degree. The thing is NICE I love to use it, sounds solid. I really don't care how far I hit the ball anymore I try to concentrate on hitting solid and straight. So things are going OK. I hit all balls off the mat with no tee, I have used no tee as of yet. So I figure I will pick up a new driver...... I get the new Sasquatch Sumo 2 squared. Put the tee in the ground and I feel like I'm gonna send this off into space. WRONG! I can't hit it like I did with the cheap walmart driver. I will say the sound the thing makes is very disturbing. Sounds terrible and I hit it terrible. I hate the club. I can pick up my 5 iron and hit it well and feel my swing. For some reason this new driver just doesn't work for me? All of you with more experience could you chime in? I vent my concern to my coach, but he still wants to work on the irons, he said at my last lesson I'm almost ready to move on to other clubs...........What is his game plan. He said some drivers are hard to hit? Is the lesson changed when using a driver? Thank you very much for finishing the long read.
  7. Can someone post a link to a video of this put?
  8. Pic #4 looks like it is a heat shrink vinyl. I think I see a crease , fold, or a bump at the shaft-club connection. I like it but do you paint something then put "it on" the club or what? I have a 30" cutter to mess around with with and that happens when I apply the vinyl sometimes.
  9. Jack , Would that have been in Maryland?

    My Swing (MAC)

I'm new. So my vote is just about meaningless. But I paused it at different points. Your head moves from your starting point up and down . And man do you WHIP your head around almost as hard as you hit the ball.
  11. I started this thread with about a question about the left arm. I would like all to know that I appreciate your posts. But my question may have misconstrued. My left arm does not bend. My arm is very straight. It's just that when I looked at the gentleman swing, on his back swing looking at him from behind his arm went straight up BEHIND his head without bending. My range of motion will not let that happen. So I guess why we all keep are arms straight , some people can just bring it back farther than others. Should one stretch to achieve this range of motion or bring the arm back, as far back as you can naturally good enough?
  12. It looks too long to read right now, I just changed my grip up a slight bit. Instructor said it would best. Anyways now the only thing i can think about was my damn thumb. I had it everywhere. I finally found the spot he wanted me to place it. All I can say I think I'm just gonna play learn a little bit at a time. between this forum, the range, the lessons, and all the tips I get, the golf channel, my head is going to simply fly off my body. It's too much. I am having so much fun right now but I can see how this could turn into something if you try to listen to everyone. I'm just gonna develop my swing and have fun.
  13. Has anyone used or purchased these two wedges? (Nike) I'm in the market and need some help on choosing. Looking for a 56 & 60. I saw the Tiger Woods line on the Nike site, anyone have a heads up?
  14. My 1st set. Love the practicing like everyone on here , we all have to start out sometime. I had some time and ran into Dicks sporting goods and checked out some other clubs. I thought mt slingshots were heavy...they had a set of taylormades on the floor that seemed to have a nice feel. I do not consider myself big or muscular in any way, but he is the second person to say get a stiff shaft with my upper body strength. Like I said I'm still new and this forum is a great place for info.that info will make me a better player and also help me stop spinning my wheels looking at all the different clubs. Most on here have golfed for a while. the few of us who are new, have so much to buy equipment wise then we gotta think about practicing. I think I rushed a bit too fast...should have checked into the steel=l shafts first. Also with my set I have no sand wedge. I have a pitching wedge, thats it. Looking into all the different sand wedges out on the market with the so many different angels anyone wanna shoot me a recommendation on one. I would like to purchase a good one from a well known manufacturer. Thanks
