We all like to share stories, you know the near misses, the chips that dropped from 25, 50 and further....
Mostly these are shared on the 19th hole, Maybe you heard a story that was just so unbelievable it is now Urban myth.
So I'll start with one from my teenage years, playing in Mississauga. This was back in the 70's and I can't recall the name of the course.
Par 5 - drove down the right side of the fairway with about 150 yards to the pin. Lost my ball didn't I. I searched and searched without luck. So I dropped a ball where everyone agreed I could, pulled out an iron (honestly don't even remember which one I used), hit it up. One bounce on the green - hit the flag pole half way up and dropped straight in the hole!
Best part of this is that when I was putting my club back in my bag, I found the ball I thought I lost - only a few feet into the rough and a couple of yards ahead of where I hit the dropped ball.
