Good Putters make a huge difference.

Ditto, if you want to score well, you must putt well. As simple as that, well, once you get to the green -
I played today with a guy who could hit his 56* SW 150 yards!!

"Big" Glue hole in Callaway FT-5
the_saint_siwa replied to the_saint_siwa's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I know it was a dumb idea but I did it. O well, I'm just going to save the shaft and put it on different head. Case Closed. Thank you Steve -
"Big" Glue hole in Callaway FT-5
the_saint_siwa replied to the_saint_siwa's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I know that my FT-5 is 100%real. Since I drilled the hole, I alter the playability, therefore it voided the warranty. That's what Callaway CSR said. I thought about the voiding the warranty but I couldn't resist. I got so aggrevated last night. I don't play in tournament, so conforming or not isn't really the issue at the moment. The big Q is, since the body of FT-5 made from carbon composite, what can I do to seal the hole? Any tricks? Thanks Steve -
"Big" Glue hole in Callaway FT-5
the_saint_siwa replied to the_saint_siwa's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I drilled the hole itself. I'm at work right now. Believe me, it wasn't pretty. -
Hey guys, I need some advice here. I have a Callaway FT-5 and the glue hole plug got push inside. I can't stand the rattle/clicky noise. Last night, in the effort to get it out, I drilled the sucker. I know, what the hell I was thinking. The plug is out now, however it left me with a hole sized of a tad smaller than a dime. So far I taped it with scotch tape. Does any of you have a good idea what to do with the hole? Adding a weight bolt? Just leave it as is? I haven't hit with it so far. Maybe later on this evening. Any suggestion? Thanks Steve

This makes me sick to my stomach
the_saint_siwa replied to Teedub7's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Like DDBOWDOIN stated, your putter look likes a standard of the shelft putter with a possibility of Tour Head Cover, or even a Tour Head Cover. Regarding of serial #, SC Newport2 doesn't come with one until a couple years later. -
Good morning gals and guys, All of us obviously wants to play with premium balls such as Pro V1, V1x, Nike Platinum and so on. However give the option, would you rather play with brand new $20-$30 balls such as NXT, Nike Juice, E5, E6, etc or used Premium balls $40-up such as Pro V1, Nike Platinum? Thanks Steve

I didn't mean to hijack your thread but Re* Ax shaft is bad? how come? Bad how? I've never heard such thing. My friend has R7 460 with standard Re Ax and he drives the ball just fine, well maybe a bit too far . He always outdrive me. Steve

Oil on the club face?
the_saint_siwa replied to the_saint_siwa's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
When I started this thread I should have make a poll about how many people oil their clubs or not. Several weeks ago I met an older gentleman that play with Mizuno MX-25 and right in the middle of the club face he has a round rust spot the size of a quarter. I also noticed that he always wipe down his club on every 3-5 shots. While I think the battle scars are kool and you can show to people how well you struck the balls, that round rust itself doesn't look appealing to me. I guess some people like it rusty some don't. A week ago I played one round with Mizuno MP-100 (yes, it's the 100th Anniversary model) and the face wasn't cover with any oil whatsoever. I didn't notice any grabbing effect on any of the shot. Everything seem to be normal. BTW I traded the MP100 with MP32 and I'm happier with it. The MP-100 reminded me of my friend's MP-14 which was a bit harsh when you didn't hit the sweet spot. The MP-14 also still had the original Golf Pride corded grip and the rubber was dead. That didn't help it either. Speaking to leaflet that came with Mizuno, I didn't get it when I bought my MX-19 awhile back. Can I find that on Mizuno website somewhere? Regards, Steve -

The person that I got the bag from told me that he got it from a Bridgestone Tour rep. -

You're right. It could be his spare or backup bag but either way it's limited bag. -

Well it look like exactly on the golfwrx website and Bridgestone told me they only do it for him so you do the math. -
Stuart Appleby Bag
the_saint_siwa replied to the_saint_siwa's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I've confirmed it with Bridgestone Golf and they said Bridgestone Golf does NOT mass produce golf bag with his name and logo for consumers and only do it for Stuart Appleby but that doesn't mean it's the only one available for him. I'm pretty darn sure that this is his personal bag. It's the 2007 Model, black with the red stripe. The 2008 model has a yellow stripe. Thanks Steve -

Well the J36CB was way too stiff for me and I practically gave it away. The bag, well I need money to cover my lost on the club. Steve -
I'm just curious, how much do you think Stuart Appleby's GOLF BAG ONLY! worth? Due to copyright protection, I just give you the link to the site: http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=30277 It's the 8th pics from the top. It's the same exact bag with his name and logo, An Apple and a Bee. I have the bag and I'm contemplating to put it here for sale or Ebay but I don't know how much to ask. If any of you guys interested, PM me with offer. Thanks Steve

Oil on the club face?
the_saint_siwa replied to the_saint_siwa's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
You got a good point. -
Good morning, First of all I don't like to see rust on the face of my club, although it's inevitable. So how many of you or do you put oil such as WD-40 or EEZOX on the face of your club (then wipe it off), including your wedges and putter? I did it for a while but someone told me not to put oil on the club face, especially wedges because it affect the ability to spin/check the ball. What is your opinion on this matter? Thanks Steve

Why 3 iron is small?
the_saint_siwa replied to the_saint_siwa's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I guess what I'm trying to say is Pitching wedge or 9 iron has more face/hitting area that 3 iron. Why not make the shape (exactly) the same and just change the loft? If you notice from your, well on mine at least, LW, then the SW, PW, 9 and 8, they roughly has the same face volume/hitting area, but as soon as you go down to 3 iron, 3 iron volume looks smaller, granted that 3 iron is longer and probably the actualy volume per square might be the same, why not just make the face "taller" instead of wider? I'm just curious. BTW, iacas thank you for your explanation, it makes sense. Steve -
Good morning, I have this thought for awhile but never really found the answer. Why is 3 iron smaller than say 7 iron? I mean from the design and functionality points why would they do that? If you can hit 7 iron comfortably, why would the designer make it smaller in the 3 irons, especially nowaday we moved everythig to hybrid. I saw a 2008 Big Bertha from Callaway and I understand that it's a game improvement irons instead of player's iron but the 3 iron looks like the same size with the rest of the iron. Thanks Steve

Where can i buy a swing bag??
the_saint_siwa replied to kekoa's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I just saw one yesterday at Dick's Sporting Goods. -
Good morning, Assuming you do not hit it into the woods, just say you can play with just 1 ball for the whole 18 holes, when do you change or replace your ball? Do you replace it when it has some scuff in it? The ball got crush pretty bad every single time, except on chipping and putting and I wonder how much "damage" to the inner core that affecting the ball flight? I figure the Pros use a brand new ball every single hole? I've tried to look for a post similar to this but haven't find it so far. What do you think anyone?

I'm still unsure about one thing, did the photographer use flash on him or TW just heard a click on his downswing? Thanks
