  1. Hey Bruno thanks for hijacking my thread! I appreciate all the videos that have been posted here, they are quite informative. I have never even taken bounce into the equation before now! Here is a follow-up question I was hoping could get discussed: What are the mechanical differences between a flop and a pitch? I know that, conceptually, a flop has no run but a pitch does, but what makes a shot flop rather than pitch, and vice versa? Thanks again! Still searching, lostmyballs
  2. I bought a used set of Adams a3's (PW-5h,4h,3h) and new Taylormade Burner 09 driver and fairway. I figure I should replace the grips on the irons cause a few of them are obviously quite worn. My question is, how do I choose what size to replace them with? I went to a golf store and felt some different grips and they feel quite different, but it is hard to know which is best for me. The jumbo grip felt nice and stable in my L-sized-gloved hands, but I worry if they would in some way impede a natural swing. Also, is it generally a good idea to have the grips consistent on all your clubs? Or does a driver demand a different grip from a wedge? Obviously I have very little knowledge about grips, please share with me some advice if you can! Thanks. Still searching, lostmyballs
  3. I'm having trouble executing an accurate pitch shot, possibly because I can't wrap my head around the concept so well. Is it just a mini-swing? Or are there unique adjustments that must be made which are absent in a full iron shot? Finally, how is the pitch mechanically distinct from a flop shot? I suppose my short-game work is hindered the most by not knowing the difference between shot types from 60 yards and in. Could anyone help me untangle the concepts of pitch, flop, and, say, a full swing with a lob wedge? Thanks! Still searching... lostmyballs
  4. I am due to make a Florida trip in the coming month or so and have never actually brought golf clubs to the airport before. Could anyone with experience tell me how much of a hassle is this? Does a golf bag qualify as oversized by most airplane's definition (in other words, will it cost more to transport them than to buy them new once I get there?). If anyone has any experiences they could share, I would greatly appreciate their input. Still searching, lostmyballs
  5. I'm curious if anyone knows whether or not it is possible to watch the golf channel tournaments online, preferably live. I know that the golf channel allows hundreds of full episodes of their shows to be watched online for free (http://www.golfchannel.com/tv/#allShowsSec) but I have never found a way to watch actual golf tournaments online. There are countless spam/scam websites offering "live streaming golf channel!!" but none of them have ever worked. Does anyone know if this is possible, or just a fool's errand? 8. I started golfing only this past spring. I bought a used set of Adams Idea a3 irons that came with a 3h, 4h, and 5h. I thought that buying them would temporarily spare me (and my budget) from having to buy a fairway club, but I realize now that that's my first item on the 2012 agenda. Anyway, I'd been relying on these hybrids for my long smacks, and I think I've hit them square about twice. They're longer than the regular irons in the set, and that changes my swing because I can't hit down on them. I've thought about swinging them like a driver, but I can't even make solid contact most of the time. Obviously, I need to practice more (and better). But going forward, how should I approach hitting my hybrids? Any tips in general? Thanks for any help. Still looking, lostmyballs
  9. So the take-home message here is don't swing your driver if its too cold out? What about woods? Hybrids?
